On Wednesday, June 27th, WAKA VA Patriot held the first ever adult kickball draft on the Peninsula. There were over 100 people registered for the draft, and more than half of them showed up for Draft Party held at the Cactus Steakhouse.

That being said, everyone seemed psyched to get this first ever Summer Express Draft League underway. While we have two weeks between the Draft and the first game (which kicks off on July 11th), we're not going to let that stop us.

There will be an open practice at the York County Sports Complex (the same fields we will be playing on for the summer) on Thursday July 5th. It will start at 6:00 and last until 8:00. This is an open practice for all new kickballers and veterans alike. It will be structured to help you work on anything kickball related. I can all but guarantee there will be someone there who can give you advice on anything you feel like you want to work on.

One other thing I wanted to broadcast is the schedule for the summer. As you will be able to see, every team will play in 6 regular season games (each team will have 2 double-headers), and week 5 will have seed vs. seed Bowl Games.

Lastly, why not use this time to shamlessly plug the Fall Peninsula Season since registration is alfeady open. Call your friends, call your family, call everyone you know and get them to sign-up. We are expecting another full 16 team league, so don't put it off or you could miss out on another phenomenal kickball season!
