Spring 2014 All-Peninsula 2nd Team
Hassan Dubose, Just For Kicks
Pitcher
This hard throwing lefty was dominant on the mound for the Kennedys all season long, but perhaps no more so than in week 8. In a match up against Ballz Deep, Dubose filled up the stat sheet recording several Ks and Foul Outs.
Travis Cobb, Boom!
First Base
Cobb deep y'all! As my man Jorts would say, "Hands for days!"
Kearsten Lewis, Plan B
Outfield
Plan B's Kearsten Lewis put in one of the best all around performances this season. Week in and week out, this veteran kickballer was straight killing it. It seemed like Lewis was always on base and came through on multiple occasions with clutch RKIs.
Nathaniel Johnson, Kick Ass
Outfield
Just like he haunted the shadows of Luckie's, so too did Jorts Johnson haunt the opposing outfields of VA Peninsula this season. His powerful right foot was a constant source of runs for the KA offense. Example: In week 10, Johnson's 3 run home run sparked a 7-1 victory over DCOMB.
Jenn Tull, Kick Ass
Outfield
Jenn Tull's foot skills are without peer. The life long soccer player spent all spring kicking ass with Kick Ass. Laying down nasty bunts and kicking lasers into the gaps.
Lenora Harper, Rumspringa
Shortstop
Rumspringa's Lenora Harper is a tremendous athlete who can get down the line quick. She covered a lot of range in the infield for 'Springa and shut down any opposing kickers trying to take advantage up the middle.
Matt Coup, Plan B
Catcher
All this man does is win. Back to back VA Peninsula championships, not to mention his record 3 VA Raptor titles. It's not by accident either. Coup is an experienced, fundamentally sound player who always seems to be in the right position to make a play and rob someone of a base hit.
Ricky Holmes, Rumspringa
Charger
Not only does Holmes provide elite defense from the charger position, but he also doubles as one of the toughest outs in the league at the top of the Rumspringa lineup. Ricky consistently places the prettiest bunts up the line for base hits and later runs.
Troy Southall, Rumspringa
Utility
Southall used to be a member of the All-Peninsula teams each season exclusively at the catcher position. Over the past couple seasons, he's evolved into much more than that. In addition to putting in outstanding innings behind the plate, Troy has also proven himself to be an elite outfielder. His versatility contributed greatly to Rumspringa's first place finish in the regular season.
David Baum, Just For Kicks
Outfield
D-Bizzle has always been one of the top power kickers in the league, but this year he took it to a whole other level. In the off season he had surgery to take care of some nagging injuries, joined JFK, and got into the best shape of his career. It paid off. This spring Baum was dropping bombs and speeding around the bases as once again of the most feared kickers in the game.
Lisa Rock, Ballz Deep
Outfield
Consistency. That's what Ballz Deep got from Lisa Rock all season long. Both at the plate (where she can both bunt and kick away really well), and in the field (where she was a smart, reliable defender).
