VA Peninsula - Spring 2014 Week 11 Results and POTW

I've had a lot going on with the WAKA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament last weekend and all, so I wasn't able to get the results and POTW post up... Until NOW. Better late than ever, right? We did have a lot of outstanding players this week, so I definitely wanted to make sure they (and myself) got some recognition.

PBJT 11, Breaking Brad 5
Ballz Deep 8, Battlestar 1
Just For Kicks 13, #WAKAholics 1
Ballsagna 12, DCOMB 2
Foul Balls 5, WAKA Shame 0
Rumspringa 13, Wrecking Balls 9
Plan B 15, Chaotic KILFs 2
Kick Ass 12, Kick In A Box 1
Boom! 12, New Kickheads 0

Players of the Week

Derek Paterson, Pitcher, Foul Balls
Jesse Rogers, Pitcher, Foul Balls
DP and Jesse Rogers combined for 5 scoreless innings on the mound to shut out the WAKA Shames.

Joe Preseault, Charger, Foul Balls
As Allen Walker put it, we ought to rename the POTW award to the 'Joe Preseault' award. The dude fills up the stat sheet every week. Against WAKA Shame, Joe added another 3 RKIs to his season total.

Kristen Saunders, OF, Foul Balls
The Foul Balls had a great week, winning 5-0 against WAKA Shame. Saunders was one of 4 Foulies to get a shoutout in the win, going 1-1 with 1 run and a pair of catches recorded in the outfield.

Ashley Carte, OF, JFK
"Ashley Carte sparked the JFK offense in the top of the 3rd." teammate Emily Cook said, "She was 2-2 on the night leading off in two separate innings."

Nicole Graziano, 3B, Ballsagna
Graziano was a destructive force in the lopsided Ballsagna win. She drove in 5 of their 12 runs against Don't Come On My Base and threw a shutout inning on the mound.

Brad Kirby, Charger, Ballsagna
Mr. Kirby painted the lines on Wednesday night, going 3 for 3.

Patrick Jones, 1B, Ballsagna
In his last WAKA Wednesday before moving to Florida, PJ spent a lot of time rounding the bases. He went 3-3 with a couple of runs. Not a bad way to go out.

Ricky Holmes, Charger, Rumspringa
In the wild Rum/Wrecking game, Holmes went 2-2 with a double, triple, and 3 RKIs.

John P. Wilkinson, OF, PBJT
Jeremy Smithey, Charger, PBJT
The Brads had a headache dealing with the Jellie's J&J. Smithey and Wilkinson went a combined 6-6, 2 runs, and 3 RKIs.

Bryan "NoShoes" Moore, Charger, Kick Ass
Brent Wentworth, Utility, Kick Ass
This pair of Ass Kickers went 4-4, drove in 6 runs and scored a pair. (and also ran into an out each. But, uh, we're not going to focus on that part.)
