Bar Buzz Week of 9/16/15

Like money or the flag, the Bar Buzz Belt is just a symbol of something greater than itself.  It has little value on its own but represents work, achievement and status.  People put in great amount of effort to achieve and retain it.  Once they have the belt, they flaunt it, they revel in the glory of obtaining it.  They hold it up high for everyone to notice and...well...hmmm.  Where is the belt?!  Ah, some jealous team has stolen it.    No.      It was in some horrific accident.     No.     I guess it just wasn't important enough to bring to Tapps this week. The Alcobalics had the pleasure of turning over the belt to themselves this week, so they dispensed with the formalities and took their cue from Foul Balls and stuffed it in a closet until they felt it was really needed.  To be fair, I did hear rumors that the Belt was at the bar early and left before I got there.  I would advise any team holding the belt, that as long as you have a team member at the bar the belt should be there too.  That being said, the Alcobalics had another great turn out at the bar and I still love them to death.  With long term super socialites Amanda Hassell and Becca Darron on the team, I can't stay mad for long.  However, make sure you bring the belt this week, some other team is going to be needing that.

We had a great turn out this week.  Most people seem to stick close to the bar area, but one team that ventured out beyond the wall of booths and was enjoying the trivia at the stage was the always lovable guys in purple.  PBJT was led by the great jean-ed one himself Brent Obershaw.  Half of this team is completely unaware of the tremendous legacy and presence their own team has in this league and all across the Hampton roads area. I'm really glad to see PBJT getting those fresh faces to the bar.

Foul Balls, WAKA'm to the Jungle, Hot Dogs and Tacos, Chaotic KILFS and Five Toe Death Kick all had good representation through the night.

Cardiac Arrest, not always known for being at the bar has brought the lime light every week.  Smoking Bunts, as always, had the core crew Tim, Casey and Shane sticking it out with me till the end even though they couldn't wait around for a photographer to take the kick out photo.

The one team that sticks out for me the most has been biding their time.  Consistently just falling short, but really putting effort into creating a buzz for themselves and the league.  Lots of teams send me messages to lobby for their team to win the belt, but one team always asks, "what more can we do."  I'm very happy to finally announce that the Fireballs have arrived and will show us how to party right this week.
