Anyway, KA had another double header a very long time ago against the mighty Rumspringa and the Don't Come On My Base crew. Rumspringa was up first against KA's and they were tough. The defense held us to no runs at all. In our defense, 2 of our top 4 in the line up were unable to attend this early game, so our strategy altered a bit. OK, like 5 times before game time but Freed put something together that wasn't our usual and could have been the difference between a win and a loss but we'll never know. All I can say is Rumspringa has a heck of a defense. Jason Riley of Rumspringa was the only one in the game with an RKI with a booted line drive to left center to bring in the score.
Rumspringa wins 1-0
Riley burns one across the plate.
DCOMB was a pretty tough team as well. Defense was tight with doubles made by DCOMB and even a finger tip over-the-head catch by Lisa Rock. She contributed on offense also by kicking in their only run of the game. Speaking of the double play, there was 1 out with bases loaded and KA was threatening to score. Dom Guarry was up to kick. Hey, the little guy has a dangerous foot! He booted it to center field in the hole where it bounced into centerfielder's hands. They quickly threw it to second to get the runner out and then tossed it to the pitcher. Dom figured the ball was fired to home plate and rounded 2nd to take third, but the pitcher held it and burned the ball to 3rd instead for a tag out as Dom tried to slide to the base. 2 outs made, but the price was 2 runs against. Dom finished the game with 2 RKI's.
Rock secretly puts super glue on those fingers, I just KNOW it!
KA wins 2-1
Interesting note: No team has ever scored more than 1 run against Kick A$$ in any game this season. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Muahahahahahaaaaaa
