CLUBWAKA To Host a Charity Bowling Tournament in Williamsburg

Williamsburg, VA – July 27, 2018 CLUBWAKA, a national organization that runs adult recreational sports leagues from  kickball to cornhole and beyond, opened registration over the weekend for its first annual charity bowling tournament. The event will be held on September 22, 2018 from 4-8pm at the AMF Williamsburg Lanes on Old Towne Road. Proceeds from registration and raffle ticket sales will be donated to the Heritage Humane Society.

Heritage Humane Society serves as compassionate stewards of homeless pets that are in transition from stay/surrender to forever homes. They serve to educate the public about humane animal care and treatment, advocate animal welfare, and provide affordable adoption and spay/neuter services. The organization is near and dear to the event’s Community Coordinator’s heart – she adopted her dog from the Humane Society about six and half years ago and had a fantastic experience.

Four local sponsors are helping to make this event possible – W&M Flex MBA, CrossFit 1607, Nick Rowan – State Farm Insurance Agent, The DeRose Realty Team, and Jack's Tile & Carpet – and it would not be feasible without the generosity of AMF Williamsburg Lanes. Many other local small businesses are donating prizes to be raffled off during the event to help make this a success and to increase the donation amount to the Heritage Humane Society. CLUBWAKA Williamsburg will also collect items of need to donate.

The tournament format will be a nine-pin no-tap style, meaning a nine on the first throw of each frame will count as a strike. Each team will be guaranteed three games, and the top 50% of teams will move on to the championship elimination games. Registration runs $26-41 (the earlier you register the lower price you pay) and includes three games guaranteed, shoe rental, and a team t-shirt. Teams are adults, 21+, and co-ed with two males and two females on each team. There will also be an after party event, with details coming soon.

Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes from local businesses like Ironbound Gym, Oceans & Ale, and The Nautical Dog, among others. The Heritage Humane Society also plans to bring a few animals needing adoption to help welcome participants at the beginning of the tournament.

If you are interested in donating something for the raffle, please contact the Community Coordinator, Erin Rock, at erock@kickball.com.
