Bar Buzz Week 9

If you wanna wear the Bar Buzz Belt
You gotta be FIERCE.
"Now if y'all wanna party like we do, if y'all wanna party like us, lemme hear ya say Ah ah ah ah ah. If y'all wanna party like we do, if y'all wanna party like us lemme hear ya say: Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah"

Reporting got a little hazy for our Bar Buzz gossip panel this week (this accounts for the publishing delay... sort of). Perhaps it was the tailgate before the game or the pounders on the field. Maybe it was the shots at the bar or the 9 rounds of flip cup (with 10 games each) or our on-site training. But have no fear our loyal readers - the Bar Buzz will prevail!!! [and with photographic evidence to support it]. And as we sit on the (two week eve) of Week 10, this issue is special because this week's Champs get to bask in the glory for two weeks until they are officially crowned with the Golden Belt when we go back to our regularly scheduled games on June 22.  Get it? Got it? Good. Now that we've established the technicalities, let's get to what you're here for.

And what do we have here??? TWO VIPS!
#15 Emperors Club: Although their membership increased by 100% (we had two VIPs grace our presence instead of the usual 1 - one of which, John Laneave, left his newborn child at home with his wife. Bar Buzz points for that? You decide), it definitely wasn't enough to keep up with the Luckie's crowd this week.

#14 Off in the Corner: I fear we have scared them away to some far away corner... where have our safety suit orange jersey wearers gone?

#13 Jiminy Kick-It: With the competition heating up, it's now harder than ever to break into the Top 10. JKI keeps trying though and lucky for them, they've got a few more weeks to make it happen.

#12 Saved by the Balls: SBB had a big showing early on, but then it was left to the regulars (aka Brad Gault, who I'm told overcame several obstacles including car issues of some sort to make it to the bar in time for the midnight photo shoot) to carry on the torch. Sadly, SBB torch just wasn't bright enough to blaze into the top 10 either.

#11 Moose Knuckles: We're seeing a lot more of the Knuckles lately (and trust me, this is only a good thing when we're talking about our Moose Knuckle TEAMMATES). BUT Can they show enough to get them back to the top?

#10 Vicious and Delicious: Both Vicious and Delicious, and still in the top 10. I'm still holding out that this form of VD can make it to the top of the ranking.

#9 5 O'Clockers: Are the clockers checking out? It's doubtful. Our sources say they're just in another time zone for the time being.

#8 New Kickheads on the Block: I really don't have much to say about a solid NKOTB performance this week (which was consistent to how they've been playing all along this season). So instead I'll let the Kids themselves tell you how they feel about WAKA Wednesdays.

Jen Nardi: Triple Fisting FTW?
#7 Just For Kicks:  We're seeing more and more of JFK at Luckie's every week. This week they were especially on point but unfortunately their effort was poorly timed with persistent plays on all sides from opposing teams.

#6 Foul Balls: These Balls fouled just short this week. They've still got the consistency though... will they be the next team to score the belt twice?

#5 Chubby Gangsters: Amazingly enough, the Chubbies held their own this week - even without their infamous BDBs (who were busy working while we were all living it up). Appearances by some new faces in Carolina Blue certainly gave them an upper hand but getting back into the top 3 after their long absence might be harder than they think.

#4 Chicken Tetrazzini: The Angry Birds were friendly and flirty this week and were a definite contender from early in the evening. They've come a long way from their solo days on the back deck and now that we're not playing at Tabb anymore this season, maybe their regular appearances will take them all the way to the top.
Angry Birds Mingling (Trying to get the Right Stuff)
#3 Jagernauts: Celebratory and hopeful, the reigning Bar Buzz Champs tried courageously to hold on to their title but fell just short this week. Don't count them out though... they could very well be the first team ever to hold the belt for a third time.

to be on his side
#2 Rumspringa: RUMMMSPRINGAAAAAAAA... Our friends in blue were back to their former selves this week and it was a close call in the top 2 (these two teams were only separated by 0.2 points). The Springas however, in no way fell short, but rather were just barely overtaken by some new troopers on the block. Even a phantom delivery pizza on Thursday morning couldn't give them the edge over the young Ballsacks.

#1 Battlestar Ballsacktica: Battlestar's journey to the Bar Buzz Belt has finally been concluded and the BB's reign victorious (for this week at least). This week BSB brought their A game. And where they lacked in previous weeks (dancing, drinking) they made up for this week with games: cornhole, flip cup and a new Glitter Gitkos addition: Thunderstruck (although I suggest that we not try that one again). They fought valiantly in all fields of Bar Buzz play and for this they are crowned Week 9's Bar Buzz Champs!

Believe it Nicole, We are #1
