Recap by Adam Henry, Chicken Tetrazzini

In last week’s defeat to the suddenly resurgent Battlestar Ballsacktica, Chicken Tetrazzini may have come out a little too amped up and let the Ballsacks jump out and hang onto an early lead. After tightening up their defense over the last 4 innings of the game, CT was determined to bring that momentum into this week’s matchup with Kick Ass.

Behind captain
Manny Anderson (
seriously, how does anyone ever get this guy out?), Kick Ass was able to score 2 quick runs in the top of the first, however, CT came off the field with a lot of confidence knowing they limited the damage that could have been done by the power in the middle of the Kick Ass lineup. Using that confidence, Tetrazzini was able to put together a 3 run first inning to take the lead behind the bunting of
Taylor Wilson and
Adam Henry, and the power legs of
Scott Kenney,
Kris (don’t call me Daniel) Hodges and
Joey (Woah!) Lawrence.
The CT defense clamped down, but suffered what could be a massive loss with an apparent arm injury to Wilson. CT captain
Andrea Hoffman (
Noelle Walsh, if you are reading this we have a future woman of the week for you) was not too worried about Wilson’s injury saying, “We feel Taylor will be okay going forward, I know all those drinks he’s going to be serving at Taphouse and the Conch and Bucket will help him get his strength back.”

report for week 3. |
Hodges stepped in to replace Wilson at catcher and he and Lawrence promptly delivered what could be the play of the season so far. Kick Ass executed what they thought was a perfect bunt down the third base line, Hodges and Lawrence converged on the ball with the catcher Hodges arriving at the ball first, instead of turning to make the throw, Hodges flipped the ball to the charging Lawrence who delivered a frozen rope to a waiting
Derek Patterson at first to get the out. Said captain Patterson “I’m just glad I caught the ball, because if I hadn’t I would’ve looked like an asshole.... I probably would've walked off the field.”

A stalemate had ensued between the two teams and unfortunately for Kick Ass, time ran out on them giving CT a confidence boosting 3-2 win. Reached after the game a relieved Henry offered his opinion on the game “Two pretty evenly matched teams tonight, we just made a few more plays and are happy to get back in the win column.” He also warned the rest of the league “Definitely do not take Kick Ass lightly, there are athletes all over the field, when they gain some more experience they will definitely be a force.”
