LIBYKI Licks Ballsacks

by Karen Savell, Battlestar Ballsacktica
Pictures to come later

Well, it WOULD have been a close one had the base refs not been on vacation...a beautiful play by the Ballsacks at 3rd where 1st base player Brandon Silver made a spot on throw to Karen Savell at 3rd. She deflected it down to the sliding runner where it hit his feet a foot before he got on base, but......the runner was declared safe. (WHAT??)  These errant calls were made throughout the game but nevertheless, the BB team fought hard all the way.
Lick It chipped away at BB in every inning scoring 1 to 2 runs per inning and held Battlestar to no runs until the last inning. Andy Tapley and Kyle Rowley made some awesome pitches to keep us in the game. Said Andy, "I was afraid she'd dump me" when asked why he threw such an easy pitch to Lori Medford

Lots of awesome defensive plays were made by the Ballsacks including a play by Joe Stumpo who came from left field to back up a play. The ball rolled through the infield where he picked it up and tagged the runner out. SWEET! Michael Machie was holding his own at catcher and throwing outs left and right to 1st. But the sweetest, coolest, most awesomest plays go to Peter (Yes, I said Peter) Kuhr.  He stepped up in his game and caught 2 fly balls in the outfield. So, we all put our heads together and made the decision that Peter (Yes,  I said Peter) Kuhr will now be henceforthto known as MVPeter. Awesome job, Peter! I mean, MVPeter!!

BB was kicking to a tight Lick It defense, but finally broke through in the last inning to bring in 2 runs by Michael and Kyle.  Philip Tanner and Joe Stumpo were the only 2 to get on base for every kick at 2 for 2. Good job guys!

Final score was 5-2

And lastly, BB is taking up donations throughout the rest of the season to help pay for prescription glasses which produce at least 10X magnification to help supply all base refs in aiding them to make accurate calls. If you would like to contribute, please contact a BB player or call 1-800-BLIND-MICE. That's 1-800-BLIND-MICE. Or if you can't get through, just slap a ref. All operators are standing by.
