Kickballers!
Thank you for signing up for the first WAKA Winter Kickball League on the Peninsula! In about 1 1/2 weeks we'll be kicking off the season! I have completed the schedule, which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjKkiopJDjWgdFhjTHRyU0p3YTB2bXlMOXNfUWdvTGc&hl=en_US#gid=0
A couple of notes about the schedule:
Sponsor Bar!
We are lucky to have, uh, Luckie's as our fantastic sponsor this winter! After the games, come on out to the Power Plant and enjoy happy hour priced drinks and 1/2 priced appetizers! Play games and mingle with your teammates and fellow kickballers!
On January 21st, we'll be kicking off the season with a Meet N Greet after the games! FREE PITCHERS FOR EVERY TEAM!
Open Scrimmage!
If you can't wait for Jan 21st to play some kickball, come on out to Gosnold's Hope Park at 11 AM for an open scrimmage! It's a great way to knock off some of the rust, and meet some of the new teams in the league! If you're a rookie player, it's a great way to learn the rules and get some practice in before the season starts! I should also have the majority of the shirts by this weekend, so I will be passing them out to captains!
Key Dates
Looking forward to an awesome season! If anyone has any questions or needs anything, please let me know!
Thank you,
Commissioner Brent Wentworth

A couple of notes about the schedule:
- Plans for the travel week that was promoted on the website, unfortunately had to be scrapped due to scheduling conflicts and the differences between the two league's sizes. I apologize for any inconvenience.
- The Pounders, JFK, and Foot Snipers have byes during Week 5. All Up In The Bunt has a bye during Week 7.
- Each team has 10 games scheduled in the 7 weeks. (WAKA standard is 8 games)
- There are no rainout weeks built in because we have such a condensed calendar. If there are any rainouts (snowouts?) than I'll do my best to reschedule the games in 3 o'clock time slots. Wanted to avoid as many 3 o'clock games as possible because I don't know of too many people that want to spend 3+ hours in the cold. If makeups times are not available, than the games will be canceled. Again, the
- Each team is responsible for reffing 5 games throughout the season. In many cases, teams will be scheduled to ref 2 games at the same time, so please be sure to make note and have your refs ready.
- There are tabs on the spreadsheet for each team for an individual schedule. I will have this complete by Thursday/Friday.
