Week 5 Gambling Lines

Week 5: While the cat’s away, the (drunken) mice shall play.

If ever there was a week when we could be heroes, this is it….

Whiskey Kick v. Foul Balls

This is easily the most hotly anticipated Week 5 showdown at Gosnold’s Hope Park. Once this game is decided, there will be only one winless team left in VA Raptor. Who will come out on top and begin their inexorable march to the most improbable championship season in WAKA history? There is very little evidence in their first five games to indicate a distinct edge for either team. The Foul Balls will finally be under the leadership of both co-captains this weekend and similarly Whiskey Kick will (definitely this time) be enjoying the return of frontline starter Matt Wellbrock. Wade Brock received the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in the mail this week, so he should be a non-factor in this contest. This should be a pick ‘em, but based on run differential and the fact that I’m an un-objective journalist showing complete bias, I’m going to have to be a homer and take my old friends. Fear the Balls (-0.5)

Kick Ass v. Chubby Gangsters

The Chubby Gangsters have cooled off since their hot start while Kick Ass has been picking up steam after a Week 1 loss to Frosty Ballin’. Both teams have questions as to who will be available for action this Saturday, so this line could make late moves as inside information leaks out. This game will be closer than recent scores would indicate, but Kick Ass keeps it rolling. Let me Asssssk You (-2.5)

Frosty Ballin’ v. All Up In the Bunt

The Frosties high powered offense looked bland and vanilla in a Week 4 shutout loss to the Foot Snipers. They hope to rebound against a dangerous All Up in the Bunt team. The Bunt was all up in JFK for four innings last week before surrendering six runs in a 7-1 loss. The Frosties have shown an ability to crank up the offense this season, while the Bunt continues to struggle to put runs up on the board. This should be a tight one if anyone sticks around the 2 p.m. kickoff, but something tells me the four teams in action at the one o’clock hour have alternate plans. Frosties (-2.0)

Over/Under on arrests this weekend in Fort Lauderdale: 0.5
