Fall 2012: Bar Buzz Week One!

Beep, beep, beep , beep. That’s the sound of doom to a WAKA player on a Thursday morning. The alarm clock.  I (shockingly) was also a victim of its assault on my ears. As I peeked an eye open I spotted a taco bell sauce packet near my pillow, Mimi Gill on my couch, and the contents of my purse strewn about the room. Judging by my WAKA bombed memory; I was not the only one feeling this way…..
After some careful calculations and Facebook picture reviews, the results!

3..... 2.....1..... Happy Midnight Photo!!!

Fact:  I broke up teenagers making out to take this picture.

16. Battlestar Ballsackticka: Your bright orange shirts were missing from the AMP.  I can’t really write much if I don’t see you.  I miss you. Come back! (I said that like Rose in Titanic yelling at the life boat when she froze in the water.  I hope that images translates.)

 15. Wasted Talent: Where were you? Were you there? I hope that I just missed you. L I saw Amy Monteiro (aka Super Spy) wobbling her heart out. So big ups to her! Brad Gault was also in the kick out picture so that gives me renewed hopes that I just didn’t see you.

14. Free Ballin’: I believe it was Dana who bought me a lovely purple shot. It was amazing and then we did the wobble.  I like her style. She read the blogs and knew the way to my little heart. I see you boo, I see you.

13. Chubby Gangsters: My friends in blue, where were you??? (See, I’m an amazing rapper.)  I am gonna hope that I just missed you as well and that you all didn’t peace out before the midnight photo fun.

12. Foot Snipers:  I saw a good number of you all chillin on the couches when I bopped in. But sadly, I hardly saw you anywhere else for the rest of the night.  Next time, come out into the group and mingle. We don’t bite- hard. Hey ohhhhhhhhh!!

11. The Situation:  You all were part of the collective on the sofas for a while and I think I saw some flip cup action. Well done newbies. You may have the kickball moves, but I would like to see some more dancing- choreographed or otherwise. (More points for a group number with jazz hands, just saying.)

10. Newkickheads on the Block:  I made a cryptic list on my cell phone (thanks Scott Duncan for showing me how) with a number and a series of letters. You were there, and you made an impact on my red bull filled memory. I love you for it. Next week, please come see me

9. Kick Ass:  Jesse Jones was there, I know this because he drove me home and got me Taco Bell. Mimi Gill was there, I know this because I found her on my couch the next morning (typical situation actually.).  I love this team and make no secret that my two amigos are on it. But guys, come on.  Get some more folks out there! I can’t defend you all forever! <3

8. 5 O’Clockers: Courtney Travis came to the bar with a broken tailbone Bad Ass. The kids in black were there and I was glad to see them. Hopefully dancing will return once everyone is healed and at 100%.

7. Pitch Please:  I won’t lie, I actually screamed then jumped for joy when I saw Nikki and Wes at the bar. I love my summer teammates and met their new squad as well. My partner in (crime) awesomeness Meaghan Dorsey held it down with me for a good while.  I am glad to see you all out and hope to see more of you again!

6.  Just For Kicks: **Unfair advantage alert** A team with Jillian Simms AND Jiselle Anderson???? Were they trying to rig the Bar Buzz???? Well ladies, you know I love you. We had choreographed dance moves. We had fun. The rest of your team held it down for the midnight photo when you all left early (Boooooo!). JFK, I like you, I mean I like like you.

5. Burning Bridges:  Admittedly, the jerseys of BB and KA look similar in the blue glow of the Luckie’s Dance floor. But, the truth came out in the pictures. You were there for fun, dancing, pictures. Kim Morgan picked me up like a sack of potatoes. Ryan Schmid and I had a middle school dance as they played slow songs. Burning Bridges, you all are doing anything but your team name with me. Keep it up.

4. Peanut Butter Jelly Time: What up team! I gotta say, I am proud. I was worried about how this would go for rankings. Take a look at the midnight picture AND the kickout picture. That’s a whole lot of purple. I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.

3. Chicken Tetrazini: Pink it’s my favorite colorrrrr.  (Not really, it’s yellow FYI.) You all showed up in force at Luckies. I turned around and BOOM! Flip cup, mingling, dancing. You all are amazing.  Just needed a few more of you in the midnight picture (maybe I just couldn’t see your shirts??) to edge to the top.

2. Foul Balls:  Holy balls, you all went hard. Just like CT you all invaded like a bright green army. You were all over the place!  I saw a legen- (wait for it)-dary  game of flip cup happening and a whole lot of green in the late night pictures.  Love you, mean it.

1. Rumspringa: I should have known when Francesca Scrosia texted me a picture of the team taking shots at 8:25 that they wanted to keep the belt. When I arrived, I saw a sea of blue and lots of happy faces. I couldn’t turn a corner without finding one of them. They danced with a bachelorette party. The girls helped start the dance party. They stole my heart.

MVP’s of the Week:  I wanted to give it to myself, but alas the winners are: Scott Duncan and Josh Waldrop. You two held it down for your team. Moved furniture around. Started a basketball game. Danced.  And were all over the place.  Find me on Wednesday to receive your medals of honor. Keep up the good work gentlemen. WAKA salutes you.

Any issues, please feel free to come up and mention them to me. Just a warning, I went to Menchville so I may cut you. JK violence is not the answer. <3
See you later alligators,
Marilee
