This upcoming Columbus Day weekend, our very own The Situation, will be competing in the 15th annual WAKA Founders Cup World Championship of Kickball! 60 teams from across the nation qualified for the most prestigious tournament in the country by winning or being the runner up in their WAKA League.
While new to our league, VA Peninsula, The Situation is actually full of avid WAKA kickballers. They earned their bid by dominating the VA Recess winter league this past winter. In fact, the Sitch is no stranger to the Founders Cup event, having competed the previous two years. They have some championship experience on the roster. Lasalle Blanks, Kyle Lewis, and Kearsten Lewis were on the 2008 champions, Frosty Ballin'. While Larry and Teri Liverman are actually two time champions, winning with Frosty ('08) and Panik Attack ('10)!
Known nationally as one of the best teams in kickball, The Situation has been seeded #2 overall for the 2012 tourney. They'll be in a pool featuring The Seminoles (Tampa, FL), All Your Base (Vegas), and Moist Ballsagna (Pasadena, CA). Last years champions, OSC (DC), is the #1 seed.
So, this Wednesday, be sure to stop by and wish The Situation luck this weekend! Take the Cup back home to the 757!
