Fear The Beers!!!!!!

Well, the VA Raptor season is finally here!!!!  And not a moment too soon! The B
ad News Beers made their debut appearance donned in their awesome Carolina Blue attire.  What's more awesomer (yep, that's a word) is that most were holding a solo cup in one hand during the game...filled with the sweet Nectar of the Gods.  Hey they have to live up to their name right??  LOTS of training and hard work have gone into this team... *snicker*...as each member had to recite the team pledge whilst slamming WAKA Bombs after each sentence stated here:

"Yay, though I walk through the fields of the Hope of Gosnold, I shall fear no Spivey.  I shall have drink in hand (or both) all the times that I shall play, and all the times that I shall ref.  The plays that I make and the ref calls I shall make will matter not, for Lo, my Solo cup shall always be filled.  And I shall sip and know that I am bullet proof and an unsung 1st Team All Star player because all the other ass hat voters don't know any better.  And I shall endeavor not to bring forth the Nectar of the Gods through vomitous means on the holy fields of kickball or upon my illustrious teammates, but it shall matter not to expel it upon a ref or nearby bush.  This I pledge to the great team of WAKA, the Bad News Beers."
Believe it or not, ALL team members took the pledge....at least 3 times each.  Now THAT'S dedication!
I love you Red Solo Cup..er...blue....er whatever the f*** you are...

Oh yeah, there was a game, wasn't there? The BnB took on Beast Mode and it was a heck of a first inning! Wait, who the heck was the guy with the black beard??  Maybe Keith Morehart should put pink highlights in... Then the BnB decided that drinking was more important.... BnB brought in 3 runs against the BM's.  Wait, did I just say "runs" and "BM" in the same sentence? hehe, I just....it was...*SNORT*...um, Anyway, BnB thought they had this thing wrapped, but Beast Mode came right back and scored (I said scored...) 4 runs against the Beers. Dammit!!!  But it's all good, BnB stood their ground (when they weren't off taking a leak behind the bleachers) and held fast.  The pitching abilities of Adam Henry and George Kiriazidis of the Beers and  Matt Wellbrock and Nick Anderson of Beast Mode made things difficult for kickers (especially when one is seeing 3 balls coming at you.  I know, I know...go for the middle one!)

It was a battle, but a fun battle nevertheless as the two teams switched leads several times (I think...I don't know...was anybody paying attention?!) A few awesome plays stood out in this game.  Team Captain Trici Fredrick (Yay!!! She's back!!)  kicked a pop up right between the catcher and the pitcher and somehow the catcher dude, David Merritts, got right under it for a sweet catch at the last second!  That was an awesome catch, catcher dude! Brandon Silver of Beast Mode walloped the crap out of the ball toward fellow Ballsack teammate Peter Kuhr, but MVPeter was picking clovers and missed the catch by THAT MUCH!! See measurement here: I<-->I    I believe that brought in a few runs for the BM's. (Oops, I did it again...) In the fourth inning the Beers were up to kick.  With the Silent Killer, Karen Savell (Third person alert!!!) on second base, Jesse Rogers kicked foul a few times then rocketed a line drive towards second and hit the Silent Killer for the final out of the inning. Sh**!!!! Dude, what side are you on??!! Nah, the Silent Killer was too inebriated to move quickly out of the way of the ball on the left, and it tagged her good! Thank you, sir, for sobering me up a bit! ;)

OK, none of these highlights are helping the Beers AT ALL so it's wind-down time....Team Beast Mode Pinkies won the game 8-6.  It was a fun game to start the season!  I hope the BnB team will be able to remember it....

One more thing!  The Beers want to welcome Captain Trici Fredrick back to WAKA!  She took a small hiatus from the WAKA world since having to move to Williamsburg.  But apparently the commute is not so far after all!  Welcome back, Trici!
Oh captain, my captain
