Seemed like this feature got some good feedback last week, so we'll keep it going. Let's look at a round up of all the biggest news and notes from the last week around the league.
- We got some terrible news this week when we found out that Rob Allen is battling testicular cancer. The league has rallied to show support and love for him though. We've helped raise nearly $4,000 to help cover medical bills and living expenses. We sold trading cards to raise money, Jason Kidd donated $100 for every homer hit on Wednesday ($300 total), auctions happened, #kickballcancer became a thing, Geoff Morehart raised over $1,000 at Jungle Gym this week, and more. Rob's got a long road ahead of him, and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
- In brighter news, we had an on-field proposal! Mamba's Brian Neal squared off against LSD's Jennifer Miller in the pre-game RPS. Brian threw the biggest rock of them all, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! (She said 'yes') Congratulations, Brian and Jen! Thank you for including us all in your special moment!
We have an proposal on field 3! Congrats Brian and Jen! pic.twitter.com/x6Xj1Ul0KL

- The regular season of the WAKA VA Patriot Summer League concluded with 9 action packed games on Wednesday. The Bowl Week schedule has been set. Congratulations to Goin' Solange, E2, LSD, and Turn Down For Bunts for earning the top 4 spots. They will compete for an opportunity to win the Cactus Bowl!
- Some people have too much free time.
- Big week for Nick Anderson. His grand slam vaulted him to the top of several statistical categories this summer.
- Some kickballers took the plunge this weekend! Ballz Deep Shamus Riley got married to his fiance Megan and the Hustle's Nicole Schaeffer wed James Salgado. Congratulations to all!
- The deadline for VA Freedom is coming up quickly! August 14th is the date. Don't miss it! Best Friday night league in all of Hampton Roads returns with more fields and bigger plans for the Fall! www.kickball.com/vafreedom
- 3 Up 3 Down will be returning from summer hiatus with a live podcast Monday night to discuss the upcoming VA Patriot Bowl Games and more! Check out the VA Peninsula Facebook group for a link on Monday afternoon.
