WAKA Hampton Roads Week in Review (8.17.2014)

Let's take a trip around the WAKA Hampton Roads Community over the last week.
  • We got some terrible news, as yet another kickballer is in a fight against cancer. Nikki LeBlanc from Ballsagna underwent surgery this week and is on the road to recovery. If you want to help her on this trip, please support her fundraiser. Get well soon, Nikki!
  • One of VA Peninsula's power couples for the last four years tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Michigan! Congratulations to Ricky & Kecia Holmes!

  • VA Freedom kicks off this Friday and the schedule has been published. 13 games are packed into this 10 week Fall and every team plays each other! Can't wait for a great follow up to a successful spring debut!
  • First, we have some unfinished business from the summer though. The VA Patriot Bowl Games have been rescheduled for this Wednesday. Who do you all have winning the Cactus Bowl?
  • August 13th was "National Left Handed Day" and the kickball.com blog posted a feature highlighting 3 southpaws from Hampton Roads!
  • We're about a week and a half away from another VA Peninsula's campaign getting underway. Of course, everyone is excited, but maybe none more than Jesse Rogers. He created this pre-season hype video to introduce the Fall 2014 Foul Balls.
Another interesting week in the WAKA Hampton Roads universe. See you at the fields this week!
