Breaking Brad and Ballsagna went head to head last Wednesday night and the first inning was a shocker. The Ballsagna crew got up to kick first But the top of the line up fell flat. Mark "RaBBit" Thompson Bunted but didn't push it far enough away from the catcher and he was thrown out for the first time this season at first. (He asked for a do-over But the ref would hear none of it. Those a-hole refs!!!!) With one runner on first, Wesley McCain came up to kick the ever living stuffin's out of it But instead, it rolled off the side of his foot and spun 546 rotations (Yes, I counted them...) within 6 inches of the plate. It was in easy reach for the catcher to pick it up and throw Wes out. The top of the line up for Ballsagna was effectively shut down! Say WHAT???? Yep, Breaking Brad lowered the top of the line up on-Base-average in one quick inning.
Evidence of Wes kicking away in winter league.
Well, the Ballsagna defense would have none of that! All throughout the game every player stepped up to make plays. Holly Lenard made some great catches in right field. Mark Thompson was everywhere playing out field, catcher gathering up anything that got near him for either a catch or a scooped up Bunt to rocket to first for the out. Karen "Silent Killer" Savell (3rd person alert!!) caught fly Balls from several different positions. (The strategy now is to move the Silent Killer every inning to confuse the enemy. Don't tell anyone.) But the most AMAZING effort out there that night came from Joe Stumpo! "Sticky Hands" Stumpo played 1st and outfield this game and caught everything flying to first with ease. He also made an ESPN highlight sliding catch in centerfield for a fantastic graB. (DUH NUH NUH! DUH NUH NUH!) He didn't stop there. On offense, he tagged and ran from 3rd to home dodging a tag throw right at him. No idea how he did it, But that Ball went right over him and he safely scored!
Oh yeah....I'm bad!
Since the top of the line up faltered, it was up to the middle to take up the slack. So they did. Jason Weiszek went 2 for 2 with 2 RKI's and Holly went 2 for 2 (one Being a double. Woohooo!) with 1 RKI, Silent Killer kicked a SAC fly for an RKI and got on the next time around. You've already heard about Joe Being on frickin' FIRE!! There were 3 more kicks booted in by various players and I wish I could highlight them specifically here, But the VBKO has made me a little fuzzy and I'm sure they will tell me soon after reading this. (all huffy and stuff)
Ballsagna would like to welcome Mike Harvey back onto the squad! Work conflicts prevented him from playing with us until now. He had some reps at charger and it was like he never missed a game! Welcome back, Harvey!
We have one more welcome to one of our players who has yet to make an appearance and it'll be exciting! Stay tuned and hopefully next week you'll get to read all about it!
There you have it. Ballsagna Blows out Breaking Brad in a Big Blow out Beating. Ok, not a Big Blow out, But maybe a Bitter Bludgening...or a Brawling Broil, er.....whatever
7-1 Ballsagna
2-1 record
Ballsagna FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
