Blog off!!!! Part Deux: Foulies Foil Ballsagna

     It's an epic Blog Off!!  My comrade and Dragos teammate Andreas Beyersdorf wrote an awesome blog on the Foulies/Ballsagna match up a few days ago. (BREAK YOU!)  What "minor" details he failed to mention in the very first paragraph was that they got beat by a bunch of girls in that final inning of the winter league tournament.  Yep, GIRLS!! Jen Miller kicked a single, Karen Savell kicked a Silent Killer double and Holly Lenard kicked a single for a bases loaded situation. It was every man's kickball whet dream to come up to the bag with bases loaded with ladies as Brad Kirby kicked it to the outfield for a walk off win.  Keep crying Foulies!  We'll never let you forget that beat down...by a bunch of girls! ;)
OK, on to more weeping...
     The Fozzie lovers got up to kick first and those a-holes were relentless! ;)  Smart kicking by Mark Flores and Jesse Rogers each with doubles brought in 3 runs, but Ballsagna's defense shut them down after that.  It was up to Ballsagna's offensive crew to get ahead.  Wesley McClain made his debut going 2 for 2 and kicking in the only 2 scores, which happen to be Mark "Rabbit" Thompson both times, who also went 2 for 2. Wesley's kicks are BEAST!  Even when they go straight to someone in the outfield, they come so fast that they bounce off your chest before you're able to wrap your arms around it. The Foulie's found that out the hard way with Wesley's first kick of the season.Wesley starts his season off with a 1.000 KA! Welcome Wes!!
      Ballsagna continued to chip away but in almost every inning, they left runners in scoring position and couldn't capitalize on getting any runs in. The Foulies held their ground and never gave up.  Later,as  Ballsagna captain George Kiriazidis was leaving the stadium, he was overheard saying "Next time we meet again I will fong you!!! When my knee gets better and I'm on the mound your entrails will become your extrails! I.......just..........PAIN!!!!! LOTS OF PAIN!!!!!!" (Geez, what a sore loser...) Wesley and Andrew Lowell held down the charging position like champs and held the Foulies to 0 runs in the last 4 innings.  Pitchers Jason Weiszek and Jon Vrooman kicked butt on the mound.  Everyone did great!  Just the kicking game was kaput...

        I heard that Joe Stumpo (Mafia Warlord) is really PISSED with Andy Doye catching his foul ball pop up and it is rumored that he's on a hit list along with Sarah Schmitt who made a double play at third base. With bases loaded and 1 out Lisa Fabila kicked it hard down the 3rd base line and it bounced into Sarah's arms. Jon Lenard hesitated because the bounce was so close to a catch that she was able to come up with it and tag him and her base for a double play...and foiled yet another great opportunity for Ballsagna to score for the tie.  I think Fozzie will be fonged as well (we're talking cotton fluff EVERYWHERE!!) and Dennis Gholson too for stretching his body beyond all human possibility for the out at 1st for the win. You will all be FONGED!!!!!!!!!
     Oh yeah, FUN STUFF!  The Ballsagna team "participated" in the Drink Up theme by working really hard to coordinate us all to wear black shirts (that was the tough part) and donning the Russian hammer and sickle emblem so that we were all.....BLACK RUSSIANS!!  Drink up!

      Well, you win some, you lose some.  This was a really fun game with some really great people and it was an absolute blast...and that's what it's all about! :)  Until we meet again, Fozzie lovers!  Until we meet again....
