Thank you!

The 2014 WAKA Kicks Cancer Champions, Cancer Attack
What a great WAKA Kicks Cancer Tournament this weekend! I want to thank everyone for being a part of this great event. Together, we raised over $3,300 for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life!

So many people pitched in and helped. Although I know there is no way I won't forget someone, I want to recognize some of the indivuals who helped make this weekend a successful one.
  • First, I want to thank our sponsors: Harrison & Lear, Fidelity Mortgage, Dewars Honey Highlander, Old School Handyman Services, McKendree Services, Jungle Gym, Deer Park Animal Hospital, Mike Rock of Nationwide, David Tortolini of Rose & Womble, the QPon Korner, and the Klages Family. Support companies that support kickball and cancer research!
  • Big thanks to Stillwater Tavern for hosting our post game festivities. Great specials, service, karaoke, and on top of all that, great fundraising efforts to add to our totals!
  • All of the captains did an awesome job organizing and leading their teams! Often times a thankless task. Not this time.
  • To all the volunteers/refs: Journey Thomas, Bryan Freed, James Maxlow, Serena D'Angelo, Talbert Dunn, Nathaniel Johnson, Ben Ottman, and everyone else who provided reffing help. You all rock and we couldn't have done this without you!
  • Thank you, Andrea Henry for lending those sweet Gately Communication walkie talkies. Very helpful.
  • Thanks to my beautiful wife, Dottie, for taking hundreds of awesome pics from Saturday. If you haven't seen them, they're uploaded to the WAKA Hampton Roads facebook.
Within the next few days, you will receive a customer satisfaction survey from WAKA. Please take the time to share your feedback. If you enjoyed this event and want more like it, be sure to let WAKA know! And if you have any suggestions on how to make it better, that would certainly be welcome, both on the survey or by sending them directly to me at brent@kickball.com.

For anyone who would like to support our Relay for Life team, please join our fundraising efforts at WAKA Kicks Cancer! We'd love to have more members! :)

Finally, congratulations to Cancer Attack for winning the championship in a close 1-0 match against The Southside Douchers! Can't wait for next year!

Thank you again!
