WAKA VA Peninsula - Results (10.29.2014)

The Heads were ready for a street fight on Wednesday night.
Thanks to the rain, it seemed like it had been forever since the WAKA VA Peninsula kickballers were in action. This past #HallowTheme, we had all 18 teams in action. Let's run down the results.

Kick in a Box 8, Breaking Brad 6
The 6:30 hour kicked off with a wild shoot out between the Brads and Boxes. KiaB opened up with 6 runs in the first inning, thanks to some clutch two out kicks by Kristi Sutton, Justin Madon, and Karl Shultz. Breaking Brad would not go easily into the night however. Powered by a pair of Ian Fluke home runs, they clawed their way back into the game. The rally fell short in the 5th inning though as the KiaB defense was able to escape a jam with the winning run at the plate.
Players of the Game: Ian Fluke (2/2, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RKI); Kippy Kyle (3/3, 2 R); Kristi Sutton (1/2, 2B, R, 2 RKI); Ryan Patrick (2/3, R, 2 RKI)

Boom 12, Resting Pitch Face 0
Trey Simmons grand slam in the first inning broke this game open. Boom cruises to the lopsided victory over RPF.
Players of the Game: Trey Simmons (2/2, HR, R, 4 RKI, BB); Justin Schauf (3/3, 3 R); Ryan Schmid (2/2, HR, R, 2 RKI)

Rumspringa 10, HotDogs & Tacos 2
Every game in the 6:30 hour featured a home run, this time by the Tacos' Aaron Thompson. However, it would not be enough. Rumspringa's high powered offense put 10 across the plate, including 3 driven in by Katie Litle.
Players of the Game: Katie Litle (3/3, 3 RKI); David Lopez (3/3, 2 R); Aaron Thompson (1/2, HR, R, 2 RKI)

Heads 9, Recess Rejects 5
The Heads came ready for a street fight, but were surprised when the 'nerds' on Recess Rejects pushed back. The Double-Rs had the Heads on the ropes in the last inning, but their rally fizzled out and the Heads escaped with their 5th win of the season.
Players of the Game: Brent Wentworth (2/2, 2B, 3B, R, RKI); Joe Conway (1/2, R, 2 RKI, BB); Jason Binns (3/3, R); Lenora Harper (1/2, R, 2 RKI)

Foul Balls 10, Chaotic KILFs 2
Brad Brooks and Steven Andrzejewski kicked back to back home runs in the 4th inning for the Foulies in the big win.
Players of the Game: Brad Brooks (2/2, 3B, HR, 2 R, 4 RKI); Steven Andrzejewski (2/2, HR, R, 2 RKI); Josh Seidnitzer (2/2, 2 R)

Sneak Attack 11, Hey We're KILFS2 0
They don't get any hotter than the Sneakers. Fresh off of a win in the WAKA Kicks Cancer Tournament (as 'Cancer Attack') these veteran 'ballers put on a clinic against the upstart K2 squad.
Players of the Game: Kyle Tyson (2/3, 3 R); Kyle Lewis (2/2, R, SAC); Jeremiah Newton (2/2, R, 4 RKI)

The Situation 6, Kick Pitches Get Money 1
KPGM did a good job of containing the top of the explosive Situation order. But the 7th and 8th kickers had more success. Eric Davis and Larry Liverman went a combined 4 for 4 with 3 doubles, 4 runs, and 2 driven in.
Players of the Game: Eric Davis (2/2, 2B, 2 R, RKI); Larry Liverman (2/2, 2 2B, 2 R, RKI); Scott Valent (1/2, R)

Ballsagna 3, Fireballs 1
The elements came into play in this 8:30 contest, as the cold rain made it difficult for the offenses to warm up. Fireballs played the heavily favored Ballsagnas close, but were unable to manufacture more than a Ryan Greene run (driven in by his wife, Jenn). Mark Thompson scored twice to lead 'Sagna.
Players of the Game: Mark Thompson (2/2, 2 R); Ryan Greene (1/1, 3B, R); Karen Savell (1/1, 2B, R)

Hammers 11, Interventions 0
An 8 run outburst in the 3rd inning broke it open for the Hammers. Brian Neal drove in 5 runs, including a grand slam in the rout.
Players of the Game: Brian Neal (2/2, 2B, HR, R, 5 RKI); Ricky Holmes (2/2, 2 R); Jason Kidd (2/2, 2B, 2 R, RKI)
