WAKA MidAtlantic - THANK YOU!

Wow. What can I say? This weekend was amazing and we're so grateful you joined us. The weather may not have been perfect, but everyone was in good spirits and there were some incredible kickball games played in both divisions. On the charity side, we raised over $500 for the American Cancer Society. Then there was the party on Saturday night. The Bud Light was flowing, the music pumping, and celebrity rappers kicking it at Peabody's. Are you kidding me? Epic. 

This event wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of several individuals. No doubt that I'll forget someone, so please forgive me if I do. 
  • The team captains deserve the most praise. Leading a team of adult kickball players is often a difficult and thankless job, but they are the lifeblood of any event and these leaders were awesome. 
  • Thank you to our awesome social coordinator Fagel Baer. We have a long history of great WAKA parties in Hampton Roads, but she may have set the bar even higher. Outstanding work. 
  • The refs were incredible. The competitive tournament may have had the best group of referees in the history of adult co-ed kickball tournaments. These world class officials gave up their Saturday to stand in the rain and call these games. 
  • To the City of Virginia Beach, thank you for allowing us to play on your beautiful fields during less than ideal conditions. No one would have blamed you if made a different call, but we're sure glad we were able to get it in on Saturday. 
  • Big props to the staff at Peabody's for hosting a great party. Outstanding service. Bud Light swag. 50 Cent. Dipo. Lil Dicky. Such a great time! 
Congratulations to our champions of both divisions, EYE CANDY and the HAMMERHEADS! Additionally, would like to congratulate all of the final four teams in the competitive division. Savage Shock, Loose Cannons, and Catch-22. All four teams are invited to join us this October in Las Vegas for the Founders Cup World Championship of Kickball!
