VA Freedom - End of Season Details!

Freedom! 

It's time to close out the spring season, crown a champion, and party our asses off!

Tournament ScheduleThe tournament will be played at Gosnolds Hope Park (901 E Little Back River Rd, Hampton). 
We have six teams competing on Saturday morning, beginning at 9 AM. Here is the outline of the schedule: 

9 AM - Play-In Games
3 seed vs 6 seed (1 seed refs)
4 seed vs 5 seed (2 seed refs)
10:15 AM - Semi-Finals
3/6 winner vs 2 seed (volunteers from previous round ref)
4/5 winner vs. 1 seed  (volunteers from previous round ref)11:30 AM - Championship Round!

• At the conclusion of tomorrow night's regular season games, I will update the scores from my phone and set the brackets. Look for the communication to come around 10 PM and be ready to roll in the AM! 
• Reffing: The first round games are assigned to the top two seed (without breaking down every scenario, it looks like Pop Pop and Bunkbeds will be the top two seeds) For the 10:15 Round games and beyond, we will be asking for volunteers from the eliminated teams to help officiate. PLEASE consider sticking around and lending a hand. And if you're a player on one of the teams not playing, but want to come out, we'd love to have you too. Who wants a free ref shirt?? Name your price! I'm willing to listen to bribe requests. But certainly good refs will be appreciated by all.  
• A couple of notes:
  
  • Mercy rule is automatic. If the score is 12 or more after 3 innings, the game will be called. 
  • If a game is tied after 5 innings, play will resume under 'Kansas City' rules. 8 players in the field (4 men, 4 women) and the previous out starts at 2nd. We'll continue playing until the tie is broken. 
  • No RPS in the playoff. Higher seed has the choice between home/away
• Since we have the park, feel free to come out and practice/scrimmage if you're on one of the teams that does not quite have enough to compete. The more the merrier. 
• Gosnolds Hope Park is a city park, so consumption of alcohol is not allowed by law. If you choose to do so, it's at your own risk. Please be responsible, discreet, and leave no evidence on the fields or in the trash cans.
