Fall 2016 VA Peninsula Kickball Jungle Gym Conference First Team

Here it is!  The post that you're currently reading!  The best's best.  The meow of the cat.  The crop's creme.  The knees of the bee.  The crème's crème.  The... individuals receiving the highest scores from results gathered via an online vote and calculated with a scoring system that has yet to be questioned amongst those nominated from within the portion of an adult kickball league containing teams electing to compete against the most skilled players that registered for said league... also commonly known as the FALL 2016 ALL-PENINSULA FIRST TEAM!!!  Are you even reading this or did you just come for the pictures?

Pitcher - Daniel Shaw (Cardiac Arrest)(67 first place votes out of 109 ballots)

Do I even have to tell you anything about Daniel?  Out of 109 ballots, he was only left off eight which includes four that completely skipped every Jungle Gym category.  That was the lowest of anyone on the ballot and he accumulated more voting points than everyone else (including the guy two pictures down) which tells me that you not only think he's really, really, ridiculously good, but that he's also hard to hate when you're dedicated to voting for someone else.

Honorable Mention: Geoff Morehart was one swing vote away from moving up to Second Team.

Catcher - Trey Simmons (DCOMB)(35)
Trey is so insanely good that it only took him two days of VA Peninsula action to earn not only his team's nomination, but his spot on the Jungle Gym Conference First Team.  The voting was close though.  He was left off more ballots than each of the next three catchers which led to him being one swing vote away from dropping to Second Team.

Honorable Mention: The only reason Matt Coup took third this season is because Brian Neal clearly cheated by making himself the face of the league...

Charger - Gene Efird (Night Sweats)(76)
Well duuuuh...  Recently, Gene was voted the best kickball player in the country, won the strength competition at Jungle Gym's Third Annual Burpee Fest, and received more first place votes than any other nominee.  I'm not sure they make hats big enough for how much we're inflating Gene's head.

Honorable Mention: Eric Cosma and CJ Smith tied for a distant third after each winning different categories last season.

First Baseman - Alex Jackson (Night Sweats)(39)
It continues to be Alex's category to lose when even a broken finger couldn't allow anyone else to surpass him.

Honorable Mention: Jimmy Wilcox was one swing vote from claiming a spot on Second Team.

Outfielder - Jeremy Edge (Night Sweats)(39)
Jeremy's self-promoting by forcing himself on to everyone's "favorite kickballers" list seems to have worked.  So much so that he accumulated almost double the points of every other outfielder nominee.

Outfielder - Ant Williams (Night Sweats)(11)
Ant knows nothing but winning, having hoisted the Wentworth Trophy in eight different seasons.  Everyone else just rides his coattails.

Honorable Mention: The outfield vote was so close that Brandon Silver was not only one POINT from Second Team, he was one swing vote from FIRST Team.

Utility - Josh Carr (Night Sweats)(33)
Josh could very possibly be the starting charger or catcher on nearly every other team in the league, he's one of the most respected refs in the league, and he's one of the most beloved personalities.  That's about as high as you can get with utilityness.

Honorable Mention: Maybe Nick Anderson could have done better than third if he actually wore his team's color.

Female - Jillian Simms (Cardiac Arrest)(34)
It's the same four ladies as last season, just in a different order.  Jillian might be the fastest in the league.

Female - Lenora Harper (WAKA'm To The Jungle)(9)
Lenora might be the strongest in the league.

Female - Megan Kramer (WAKA'm To The Jungle)(6)
Megan might have the sailor-est of mouths in the league.

Female - Katie Bruce (Cardiac Arrest)(7)
And Katie might have the highest game awareness in the league.  But they all have one thing in common...  "IT'S HAMMER TIME!!!!!"

Honorable Mention: Nikki LeBlanc fell just a few votes short this season.

There you have it, the last of results from the position voting.  But wait, there's more!  Still to come, what happens when you allow a hundred kickballers to free type their response to several social categories?  Stay tuned for the Fall 2016 All-Peninsula Superlatives.
