Battlestar Smothers Rival Kickheads, 15-0

Recap by Karen Savell, Battlestar Ballsacktica

What a great way to end the Fall season!  Well, Team Battlestar thinks so anyway... with their Rebel Indian Yell and Indian Rain Dancing (or it could have been just stretching??), they were able to keep the rain from coming down until after the game was over. I think we should hire one of them as our weather forecaster for the next Spring season!  Well, let's get down to business...

The Ballsacks  loaded the bases with the 1st 3 kickers of the game. They were Michael Machie, Phil Tanner, and Nicole PleshaKyle Rowley kicked a single to bring in Machie.  Then Jason Weiszek came up and kicked the crap out of the ball!!! It went screaming out in right center field. After about, oh....5 minutes, the freakin' ball radioed in for permission to land, but not before everyone was able to run over the plate.  Congratulations to Jason for that awesome Grand Slam!!  Joe Stumpo also made a run in and brought the score to 6-0 at the top of the 1st.

Battlestar was able to hold New Kickheads to no runs with a catch in right field by Brandon Silver, a catch in left field by Karen Savell, and a catch by Nicole at 3rd base, then went back in again to keep the kicks going hot.  Alison Easterday, Andy Tapley, Michael (again), Phil (again), Nicole (again), and Kyle (and again!) all were able to run across the plate to make the score 12-0.  Again, the Ballsacks held them to no runs with awesome catches and (mostly) accurate throws all around.

In the top of the 3rd inning Karen kicked a double and was eventually kicked in by Natalie Weiszek. It was a close play at home, but Karen slid in for the score! (Very dramatically, I might add. Hey, you gotta look good gettin' dirty, right?) ;) She was the only one to score that inning to make the total 13-0.

Battlestar was relentless and held tight in their defenses and kicked like there was no tomorrow! (oh yeah....last game of the season?  There IS no tomorrow!) In the final inning Phil (AGAIN), and Nicole (AGAIN) came across the plate to make it 15-0.  WOW!!!

Every single person in the line up got on base... except one.  I'm not going to name any names, MVPeter, but you know who you are!  Lots of us celebrated the big win at Luckies and had a good time talking about the fall season. I must say, it's the best season I've ever experienced!!  Maybe I should mention that it's my FIRST season to be a part of WAKA Kickball and I enjoyed every minute of it! [(whispering) Don't  tell anyone, but before this season, I was a kickball virgin! Shhhhh!!] I wish I could have participated in going to Luckies more often, but darn it, I have kids and responsibilities, and other stupid grown up stuff to deal with.  Maybe I'll become more irresponsible and become a raging party animal by next spring! One can only hope!

Well anyway, it looks like the Ballsacks are peeking at the right time in their game to take on the big contenders in the tournament this weekend! Good luck to all! (but mostly to my favorite team BATTLESTAR  BALLSACTICKA!!!)
