Kickballers!
It's time! Spring WAKA Kickball begins Wednesday night!!! Thank you all for signing up for WAKA VA Peninsula! We have an awesome season planned. 16 teams and over 290 players! Just want to go over a few notes, before we begin...
Schedule
The full schedule is available at www.kickball.com/vapeninsula as well as here. A typical WAKA season has 8 games, however, in VA Peninsula, we have 11 games scheduled this season! We have one week, June 20th, scheduled for make up games, however, if we have more than 1 week rained out, we won't be able to make up all the games. Just know that we have extra games built in for this reason (hopefully, it won't come into play).
Weather Cancellations
Speaking of rain... In the event of inclement weather, we will keep the league updated on our status by Facebook, Twitter, and your e-mail. If we have to cancel, I will post the communication to all of the above. If you do not receive an e-mail or see any posts on the social networks, assume we are playing!
Time Limits
With 16 teams and almost 300 players, one of the factors we have to be conscious of is the time. Please make every effort to be at the fields at least 15 minutes prior to your games scheduled start time and ready to play by on time... Games will have a time limit. No new inning should begin at 20 after the hour. (ex. If the 4th inning of a 7:30 game ends at 8:25, than the 5th inning will not be played. The game will be called due to time and will be recorded based on the score at the end of the 4th.) This is a hard and fast rule. If you start late, you will not get additional time added at the end. I can't stress this enough, and I thank everyone in advance for respecting each other's time.
After-Party!
After the kickball action, please stop by our postgame clubhouse, Luckie's Dueling Pianos, located just down the road in the Hampton Power Plant!
