Foul Balls: More Championships than Your Team

By Andreas Beyersdorf

The Foul Balls are back for their ninth season and back in force. Typically, the Peninsula Division’s version of the Washington Generals drive away most of their players (seven former Foulies will be playing in non-kelly green shirts this spring) and start the season with a bunch of kickball newbies. However, for unknown reasons an astonishing twelve Foulers return for the upcoming season. And a repeat of their Spring 2009 championship is inevitable.

Newcomer Bryan Pena shows us his impressive.....design skills.

The returning players are Jen Nardi (bringing leadership through drinking), Andreas Beyersdorf (bringing leadership through sub-par managing), Joe Preseault (starting charger), Dennis Gholson, Meghan Frum and Gwen Gorski (or is that Gwen Gorski and Meghan Frum), Kelley Brink, Brad Gault, Wilson Gideon, Carolee Larger, Kim Smith (who brings almost nothing to the team) and Wade Brock (who brings absolutely nothing to the team).

Not as impressive as it looks...

Joining the returning dozen are eight new players. I don’t know much about them but Bryan Pena is already a Foul Balls all-star by creating this season’s best kickball logo (my opinion) while not infringing on any trademarks (seriously, I’m pretty sure the Jagernauts are going to be sued by Jagermeister, NASA, George Lucas and space in general). In honor of this logo here is my favorite video about a rooster:
