Fall 2012 - Preseason Coaches Top 10

Who's ready for some kickball?!? It's the Fall 2012 season, and the Coaches Poll is back. Each week, in the super secret captains Facebook group, captains are given the option of ranking their top 10 teams. The votes are compiled and posted here on the GMOT each week.

Disclaimer: By no means is this scientific and it has no bearing on the standings or anything of importance. It's just a pulse check that shows who the captains think are the top teams week to week. Hoping that it creates some good discussion.

10. Free Ballin' (8 pts)
Despite losing a few key contributors, Mary Katherine's squad looks good going into their 3rd season of VA Peninsula competition. Newcomer Taylor Wilson gives them a solid defender behind the dish.

9. Battlestar Ballsacktica (15 pts)
The Ballsacks were one of the hottest teams at the end of last season. By adding one of the most powerful legs in the league, Geoff Morehart, they're hoping to continue that upward momentum.

8. Rumspringa (28 pts)
'Springa has upgraded their speed during the offseason in an effort to improve their offensive output. Will they have the legs to drive them in?

7. Kick Ass (41 pts)
Last seasons' number 1 seed and a final four team, Kick Ass, lost some major players. This lead to the captains moving them down to seventh to open the season. They still have plenty of firepower and captain Manny Anderson has already vowed to use the snub as a motivational tactic.

6. Pitch Please! (44 pts)
Wes McClain and Nikki LeBlanc broke off to form a new squad, and they look like they'll be pretty nasty. A mixture of veteran players, raw soccer talent, and two of the league's best pitchers (Hassan Dubose and Daniel Reyes) has PP looking like contenders.

5. Burning Bridges (56 pts)
The Bridges are loaded with talent all around. Will this be the year they take home the prestigious Wentworth Trophy®?

4. Just For Kicks (66 pts)
Runner ups for the last 5 seasons, JFK is looking to break over the barrier. Bryan Freed has recruited perhaps the strongest JFK roster yet. These guys will be tough.

3. 5 O'Clockers (72 pts, 2 first place votes)
The champs had to replace their starting pitcher, catcher, and charger in the offseason, but still appear well positioned to defend their title.

2. Foot Snipers (75 pts, 1 first place vote)
The champions of the VA Raptor winter season are making their VA Peninsula debut this Fall. Lots of familiar faces and talent out the ass. The Snipeys will certainly be gunning for the top spot.

1. The Situation (85 pts, 6 first place votes)
The core of this team goes back to the 2008 Founders Cup World Champions (Frosty Balls), and their reputation precedes them. Now they're coming up from Virginia Beach to play in the best league in the 757, and the target will be on their back every week. What better way to get them prepared for the 2012 Founders Cup in October?

Others Receiving Votes: Chubby Gangsters (4), Peanut Butter Jelly Time (1)
