Recap by Karen "The Silent Killer" Savell
The Ballsacks were looking forward to a double header night as they took on the Kickheads and the Bridges. Coming off of 4 wins in a row, the Ballsacks were feeling pretty confident, and the first game with the Kickheads only added to that confidence.
The Ballsacks planned to use their usual line up this time to get used to getting back to business in preparation for the tougher teams ahead. They pretty much rocked on both offense and defense in this game. Not 1, but 2 kickers kicked grand slams against NKOTB to bring in 8 runs all together. These runs came in off the mighty boots of Michael Machie and Kyle Rowley. It was mostly a 3 up-3 down kind of game where catches were made or accurate throws we're caught for swift outs. Karen "Silent Killer" Savell made 2 catches alone in right field. There was an awesome kick made by the Kickheads where it went over the left center's head. The kickback into play went askew and didn't make it's way back to the field in time before the runner made it to home plate for a 1 run homerun. Excellent kick, Kickheads!! But the Ballsacks dominated the entire game and won it 18-3.
Next up, Burning Bridges!!
I've got 3 words for this game: The Ballsacks choked! Battlestar didn't look at all like themselves as they tried to take on the Bridges. Miscues and lack of communication by the Ballsacks led to the Bridges taking advantage while they could. BUT...it didn't lead to a complete blowout like SOME people expected. (cough, cough, Matt [Wellbrock], cough...) It seemed like the Bridges found weak spots and kept picking at an open sore. The Ballsacks had a few opportunities, but failed to follow through. With the bases loaded, the Silent Killer was next up to kick and having never had to kick away before, she tried her best but it was an easy out for the Bridges...dammit. The Ballsacks however made a sweet double play the next inning. With a runner on first, a bunt was made toward charger where it was accurately thrown to first for the out. As the ball was thrown back to the pitcher, the runner on second rounded and went all in towards third. George Kiriazidis saw that he was going for it and threw the ball to Nicole Plesha where she deflected it down and the ball literally sat there in front of third where the runner slid right into it for the tag out. BOO-yah! Double play to end the inning. The Ballsacks tried to rally and got a runner in before it was all over. Burning Bridges handed the Ballsacks their second loss of the season with a score of 6-1.
Next up: The Situiaton! Battlestar is hoping they all have severe jet lag and total exhaustion from their trip to the Founders Cup tourney in Vegas where they took 2nd place! In the nation!! Congrats, Sitch....but it's on!! The Ballsacks will never bend over and take it. Hopefully you were not impressed by our showing against Burning Bridges and will let your guard down to where the Ballsacks will sneak in a win....yeah, that can happen!!
