Updates From Around the League

Kickballers!

We're at the halfway point of this EPIC fall season of WAKA Kickball! Hope everyone is enjoying themselves every Wednesday! We have just a few updates and reminders that I wanted to cover, because there is a lot of exciting stuff going on around the league.

Housekeeping Items
Alcohol Policy at WMS: Please do not bring your own alcohol to War Memorial Stadium. Because WMS has an ABC licence, outside booze puts them at risk. We're lucky to have a bad ass facility that will serve us alcohol. Let's support them by buying from the Tiki Bar! (anyone observed with alcohol from outside, will be asked to bring it back to the parking lot)

Time Limits on games: Please make every effort to begin your games at the scheduled time and work to play at a decent pace (JFK, I'm looking at yoooou). With 16 teams, and 9 games going on every night, we have to respect each other's time. NO new innings should start after 20 after the hour, regardless of what time the game started. This will help ensure that we stay on schedule. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

WAKA Kicks Cancer
Just to prove that we have a philanthropic side (it's not all kickballin' and partyin' people), we have launched our 3rd annual WAKA Kicks Cancer Relay for Life team! Together, we're raising money to support the American Cancer Society! Last year, it was a great success, and we're looking to build on it. Two ways that you can support right now!
Raffle:
This week, Commissioner Morehart, is selling raffle tickets for the following awesome prizes:

Halloween Party / Costume Contest! 

This year, WAKA Wednesday falls on Halloween! In addition to the normal (term used loosely) theme weeks that we do around this time, all ladies will be eligible to be entered into a Costume Contest at Luckie's that night! The grand prize will be $1,000!!! Good luck! 

Finally, best of luck to THE SITUATION, as they compete for the World Championship of Kickball today in the WAKA Founders Cup! Bring that trophy back from Vegas, Sitch!
