We left that all on the field and got dressed up and went to Luckie's PartyBar for our End of Season Prom Party! I can tell you from personal experience, the WAKA Bombs were potent and the dancing was a plenty.
I hope everyone had a great season and enjoyed all the competition on the pitch as well as the shenanigan's at the bar. This league is filled will 300+ kickballers that know how to play a child's game very well and drink adult beverages even better. This league is not a success without each and everyone of you. There are a few people I would like to give very special thanks to for volunterring some of their time to ensure the experience was that much better.
Bryan Freed for showing up early to the fields every week and "walking it out" for us.
Matt Wellbrock, Nathaniel "Jorts" Johnson, and Bryan Pena for creating and maintaining the highly anticipated weekly podcast.
Marilee Columbus for writing the ever hilarious, and completely un-biased, weekly bar buzz. They were ah-mazing.
Andy Doye for the hilarious weekly Fozzie Photoshop contributions.
Mary Katherine Evans, Emily Cook, Nick Sutton, Brad Gault, Bryan Pena, Jiselle Anderson and everyone else who has supplied us with countless profile and cover pictures for our facebooks.
Karen "The Silent Killer" Savell for her weekly insights into the wild world of Ballsack kickball.
All captains and co-captains for doing the most thankless job on a Wednesday night in Hampton Roads. Your teams appreciate all your hard work, and this league thrives on your dedication.
Everyone who volunteered their time to ref any game this season, however a special thanks to those who ref the tournament games.
Jeffrey Scott and the staff at War Memorial Satdium for allowing us to play on what is hands-down the best kickball field, possibly, in the world!
The entire staff at Luckie's PartyBar for being one kick ass league sponsor.
Lastly, I would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Brent Wentworth. This may have been my first VA Peninsula season as the commissioner, but the amount of time and effort you still put into this league is much appreciated and half the reason why this league is as epic as it is.
One final Congratulations go out to The Situation for being the VA Peninsula Fall 2012 Champions and earning their first ever Wentworth Trophy®!
In the coming weeks, you will receive an e-mail survey from WAKA asking questions about your overall experience. Please be sure to take a moment to complete it and let us know how we did!
Lastly, as most of you know registration for the Winter 2013 season is now open. Buy your cold weather gear and get signed up!
