Michael Machie had some pressure put on him before this game
started. As he watched 99% of the
individuals in the survival pool choose Battlestar in the first game, he knew
that if they lost, he’d end up like Ned Stark. Decapitated with his head used as next week’s game ball.
Fortunately for him, his newcomers showed up and dragged the
team to a victory.
When I talked to him after the game, Machie mentioned, “Our
veterans played like they haven’t been here before, like a bunch of Sloppy Joes. But the new Battlestars…
they played like Manwiches.”
Christina Race made some catches that reminded me of a young Jim Edmonds, one of which was a tip
drill catch off of MVPeter Kuhr.
I also managed to catch up with Alex “Those ain’t my” Childs,
a new New Kickhead. I asked him
how they did and although he was disappointed, he had no problems making
excuses for the loss. “I blame it on the rain that was falling, falling. Blame it on the stars that did shine at night. Whatever you do don’t put the blame on you. Blame it on the rain. Yeah. Yeah.” It was
really weird b/c his lips were moving as he was saying it, but it sounded more
like Chris Painter’s voice.
In the end, all of you Survival Pool Pickers can breathe
easy.
We Are Battlestar!
Final Score:
Battlestar 5 – 1 New Kickheads
