Week 1 Game Summary - Peanut Butter Jelly Time vs. Foul Balls

Ooooo!  It’s my favorite type of game to write up.  The game where no one wins and no matter how much excitement you try to build up in the summary, it’s still going to end with a letdown.  I imagine it’s a lot like impotence.

Random tangent time!
- Purplesaurus Rex vs. Ecto Cooler.  Bruise vs. Snot.  Grapes vs. Avocados.  This is what I thought of while I watched this game.
- I feel like this may be a little Spygate-ish, but I went out the other day and participated in a PBJ practice and there Brent Obershaw is… on the mound… in cut off jean shorts.  And ladies… you’re missing out.  All this time, he’s been hiding those gems behind denim and only at practice do you get to see those Kathy Irelands outside of some Levis.
On yet another side note.. I always thought there would be a good TV show idea in a buddy cop comedy called "Brentworth" that starred Brent Obershaw and Brent Wentworth.  Now I’m thinking we have a sequel lined up called "Shaw and Obershaw", starring Daniel Shaw and Brent Obershaw – sorry Wentworth, you were killed off in the first one

And back to the game at hand...
This game was a tight one (as referenced in the first paragraph) with PBJ looking like they had it signed, sealed and delivered after the aforementioned Brent kicked a two run triple.  But like Jim Valvano, the Foulies didn’t give up.  They didn’t ever give up.
Dennis Gholson led the Big Mean Green Machine with 2 RKIs and an awesome Willie Mays-like over the shoulder catch.  Then the intensity hit... In the bottom of the 5th with 2 outs the Foulies managed to come back to

… wait for it…

tie the game.

Final Score: Peanut Butter Jelly Time 4 – 4 Foul Balls

  1. I suggest "Oberworth" or "Wentshaw" as alternate names for that comedy.
