Bar Buzz – Guidelines vs. Rules (no...that's not a game recap.)

Prelude: sometimes I get deep and philosophical…

So everyone has their “off” days, moments, weeks….years. You know, those times when you say “this is how it’s going to be!” and it doesn’t quite get there. Or those times when your rule for the night is to go home and do your work/read a book/catch up on sleep/clean your apartment, but you end up giving in to peer pressure and going out for a beer. Then you say “I’ll have just one” and that turns into one too many. Yea…

We all have those “rules” that we want to live by that in the end are simply guidelines.

So while I would LOVE to say that I am going to be full on #BarBuzz every #WAKAwednesday and I’m going to make it for the #AMP, and I’m always going to be super awesome… sometimes, life gets in the way and turns my rules into guidelines. I was sick last week, and it ruined my life! HOW am I supposed to be the party-judger when I’m being lame myself?? So MY guidelines are:

-be ever-present at every #WAKAwednesday (clearly that didn’t happen this past week)

-write my blog post on Monday because we all need something to get through this day (It’s only 10:40pm, it’s still Monday)

-have an idea for my blog post before Monday (NEVER happens)

-write a funny/witty blog post (nailed it!)

So not making it out to #WAKAwednesday meant I needed to stop being the party-judger for a minute and let someone else do it. And you know what, Kickin’ Atoms went above and beyond the guidelines. They followed the rules. They had a great turnout in the #AMP, did a ton of the #BarBuzzChallenge photos (the challenge was to mingle and make a new friend FYI), and they seemed to actually get out of their newbie comfort zone. And this is all from what I saw and heard while dying on my couch with Netflix and Chinese food! Good job guys, I'm excited to administer and perform my first Bar Belting Ceremony!
