Kickin' cancer's butt, BABY!!!
Oh yeah....the game!! Well, the Kickheads kicked first and instead of starting off with the traditional bunt, it was kicked away to none other than....wait for it.....The Silent Killer!!!!! Woohoooo!!! Finally got some action in the ...oh wait....she dropped it! Yep, the lights in field 1 are 10 feet from your face when one has to look up for an air ball and she lost it! No matter, the runner was held to a single as Tim "Beatdown" Paetz ran to her rescue and threw it in. (Everybody say "Awwwwwww...") Well, no matter. She got another chance as one was kicked into the foul zone by right field, but she made a running beeline for it and snatched it for a solid out.
Ballsagna held them to no runs and they promptly made 3 runs right away with Brian Neal, Mark "Rabbit" Thompson, and "Hot Karl" Schultz coming in to score before the final out was made. Again, New Kickheads was held to no runs. The second inning was even more prolific for Ballsagna as they made another 4 runs to make it 7-0. Most of the ladies including Holly Lenard, Karen "Silent Killer" Savell, and Anna "The Voice" Boffo all made it on base BOTH times they were up to kick in the game. BTW, the Silent Killer has a kicking average of 1.000 for the last 4 games. (I want to repeat that a kazillion times because this will probably never happen again, but that's too much typing so go back and read it again! I'll wait....) Runners that were kicked in were Brandon Accordino, John Vrooman, Karen Savell, and Anna Boffo. With the score the way it was, Ballsagna mixed it up on defense and had a little fun in positions they usually don't play in. The New Kickheads were still held to no runs.
Patrick "PJ" Jones got a little action on the bases when he was advanced by Stephen McGrew's kick. Running from 1st, PJ saw the opportunity to advance to 3rd but saw the ball coming and the 3rd base lady was blocking the path to the base. PJ slid down on his knees with his hands up to protect himself from an eminent crash with her and almost wound up making a crotch-face-plant move. Luckily, with a defensive, unintentional push by PJ, she fell away and they both averted an awkward situation. PJ was able to crawl to 3rd and realized that the thrown ball continued to roll into left field and he got up and ran in for the score. PJ, being the gentleman that he is, went back and shook hands with her and made sure she was alright after the play. (It's times like this where I wish I had a slow-mo action film of the play!) He was the only one to score that inning.
Finally one more run was made by Ballsagna as Irene Mitchell kicked a sack bunt to bring in Holly Lenard in the 4th.
I just want to say the New Kickheads are a spirited group of awesome kickball players! They donned the pink like crazy! It was fun playing against such a jovial group of people. Hats off to TNKOTB!
Ballsagna Face!!!!
