VA Peninsula Week 1 Players of the Week

A new segment for the blog: We introduce the "players of the week". As most of you know, every season we open up the polls for voting for the All-Peninsula team. The top 3 players at each position are selected by the league to be honored as the best of the best... The goal of this new weekly feature is to highlight the players that made the biggest impact on the previous Wednesday to help players when voting at the end of the year.

Understanding that I can't be everywhere and witness every game, this is all about what has been reported to me. So, if I missed someone that you think should be recognized, sound off on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments! And make sure you inbox me with your feedback each week... With that said, here are our week 1 "Players of the Week"

Geoff Morehart, Rumspringa - This hard throwing lefty set a league record with 4 strikeouts in 'Springas' 6-1 victory over Ballsagna.

Keith Morehart, Wrecking Balls - Joining his brother on the POTW list is Keith Morehart. He went 2-2 and belted a big home run in Wrecking Balls' 8-4 win against Foul Balls.

Amroth Hough, Ballz Deep - Hough's powerful drive in the 5th inning drove in 2 runs and tied the game against Boom.

Jimmy Wilcox, Plan B - With Plan B down 1-0 in the 4th, Wilcox kicked a 3 run homer to help lead the Bees to a huge week 1 victory over JFK.

Steve Monahan, PBJT - Monahan's 4th inning double drove in 2 runs, including the go ahead in the Jellies' upset over #3 Kick A$$.

Jeffrey Shildt, DCOMB - Shildt threw 5 scoreless innings in his first kickball game ever. Don't Come on my Base defeated WAKA Shame, 6-0.
