As I have stated before, there are a few nights that go down in a season's bar history. The first night, the last night, and one right around midseason. I think last week was that night. What a night!
There were so many people who came out! I think I even posted/tweeted about how there were so many people, that I couldn't focus on one area. There were a solid 5 teams who had a great turnout - will discuss further down.
I was so pleased with the challenge: take a photo with a different team's captain, and post why they started it. So many teams participated! I thoroughly enjoy challenges that force people to start a conversation. I totally understand minglephobia. It's hard to overcome. But I am loving the people who just run up and snap that picture, and post that story. Even if it's just for a moment, mingling is happening. But seriously, your captains are amazing (yes I'm shamelessly throwing myself into that category). They care, they spend hours a week going over tapes, and plays, and lineups (maybe not all of them). So go show your captain some love for being a fearless leader and taking on the challenges that those duties entail. Because sometimes it's hard being so awesome.... ;)
The best part of these challenges is when people have no clue what's going on and just pose for a picture...kind of like Keith Morehart. But I'll give him credit, he's right when he says that he'll support anything that increases his web presence.....sounds like someone's arrogance is catching up to mine!
Now usually I don't rank teams, but I'm starting to see that there's usually 5 or 6 teams who are just consistent, so based off of last week, here's my ranking. Honestly if you're not in the top 5, you just have to work a lot harder. That's my feedback and I'm sticking to it!
5. The lone rangers of Brent Wentworth, Troy Southall, and Keith Morehart. The only reps from your respective teams in the #AMP. Y'all stay strong.

Such an awesome group of people! |
2.WAKA Shame - you guys had a fantastic showing! I love when teams actually want to compete for the belt, because it brings that competitive element. You are consistent when it comes to doing the challenges and getting your team together. You are inside, outside, on the dance floor, and talking to me (yes, that's important). But I need that "wow" factor. Something that just sets you apart from everything. Maybe have the dj play your song, or get someone to do something totally crazy! Get creative!
1. Plan B. - I told Nick Schmidt, that when he set his mind to winning the belt, it would happen. But don't confuse this as a promise from me to him. More so a non-verbal understanding for me that when this team decided on something it would happen. I don't know if this has ever happened before, but not only was the ENTIRE Plan B. team was at the bar, BUT they had a 6:30 game and still had a strong presence. All. Night. Long. Even if it's happened before, it's never been reminded to me so much. The facebook presence y'all. I just couldn't be happier! Everytime I turned around, Noelle and Amanda Doolittle were there. Taking some kind of picture. But they didn't limit it to just captains. They found co-captains, bar captains, appointed captains, captains from the good 'ole days, and every other kind of captain you could think of. So thank you for being so aggressive last week! ...Now if you don't have a strong presence for us to pass the belt to this week, we'll have words!
Remember folks. I always refuse bribes... |
In the words of Brent Wentworth: I love my "labor of love" <3
