VA Peninsula Players of Week 7
Matt Mitchell, 1B, Ballz Deep
In what was perhaps the most important play of the night, Mitchell was able to barely get his hand on a hard line drive, tip it into the air, and then dive underneath it to secure a critical out and preserve the shut out. Ballz Deep tied Rumspringa, 0-0.
Jesse Rogers, Utility, Foul Balls
Rogers came through in the clutch for the Foulies. His bases loaded RKI in the 4th inning completed a come from behind rally as the Foul Balls defeated KiaB, 6-5.
Bill Coaty, Outfield, Wrecking Balls
"Wild" Bill Coaty cranked a home run that traveled about 200 feet. Anytime you crush one like that, your odds of earning POTW recognition are pretty high.
Jamie LaCrosse, 2B, Wrecking Balls
LaCrosse went 2-2 and drove in 3 runs in the Wreckers lopsided victory against Breaking Brad. Her 2nd kick was a laser into shallow center field.
Chris Tanner, C, PBJT
WAKA Shame will be having nightmares about Chris Tanner, because he absolutely murdered them on Wednesday. His line: 3-3, 2 doubles, 3 RKI, 2 R. My goodness. And if that wasn't enough, he was killing them behind the plate as well, putting in 4 innings of lock down D at catcher.
Drew Paxton, C, Kick Ass
In his first game against his former club, Paxton had a bases clearing 3 RKI triple in the first inning.
Jeremy Edge, OF, Plan B
Kyle Tyson, P, Plan B
Jimmy Wilcox, Utility, Plan B
This part of the Plan B order was too much for Ballsagna to handle. The trio went a combined 6 for 6 and either scored or drove in 5 out of the Bees 7 runs.
