What can I say?! The first 6 kickers of the Ballsagna crew got on base EVERY TIME they got up and either laid down a perfect bunt or kicked the smithereens out of the ball to bring runners in. What a sight to see everything coming together in the very first game. Congrats go to our top of the line up Mark "Rabbit" Thompson, John Vrooman, Andrew Lowell, Benjamin Ottman, Pascal Baumeler, and Jason Weiszek. Three of those are newbies to the team but 2 already come with a lot of experience. Pascal is showing us that being new means nothing in this sport, though. In his first game he kicked away down the left field line and almost kicked a grand slam but he was sent back to 3rd when the ref called dead ball before he rounded third to come home. A triple with 3 RKI's! Dang, can we keep him?! Pleeeease?? (P.S.-If George keeps recruiting hunks, I'm never leaving this team!!! )
The Ballsagna team served up 2 double plays in this game. Simply amazing! Imagine what can happen when Wesley McClain gets into the mix and stirs things up! Talk about a HOT meal on wheels!
Who else can I recruit so I can keep the Silent Killer on the team?!
Speaking of Andrew Lowell (HUNK!), he was all over the place in the charger position! He even made a backwards-Superman-layout catch in the final inning of the game. The line judges all gave him scores averaging 5-6, but they were all wearing pink shirts. I think it was totally rigged... You deserve a 10 for that catch, Andrew! Good job!!
My wiffleball buddy Ben Ottman made his Ballsagna debut at 1st base (another HUNK!) and his fingers are just as sticky as Stumpo's!! Never dropping or bobbling a ball once. He's also great in the outfield. Keep an eye on that dude. He's amazing!
Did I stay Stumpo?? Why, yes I did! Joe Stumpo and Jason Weiszek have made the switch over from defunct Battlestar to round out our team with some great talent. Stumpo has also brought the mafia into our organization, so no funny business or you might wind up missing. I'm talking to YOU ref's! (wink, wink) Jason is great anywhere you put him! He makes for a great first baseman, pitcher, outfielder, utility dude. Glad to have these two hunks back on my side! :)
Joe-"Damn, I look good in black...now I match my MIB's"
David Griffin, Jon Lenard are back this year doing great things. Griffin even took out a lady runner on a tag going to first (Ouch!). It was a sac bunt to bring in a run for the Hotdogs & Tacos crew and it worked! Griffin had to stay down for a while to hide the tears from all the intense pain...and shame. But he got up and shook it off. Mark Thompson is a solid return player as well. He rocked the catching position all night!
Rabbit is good, Rabbit is wise...and BUFF!
Annnnd the ladies of the team include myself Karen (Silent Killer)Savell, Holly Lenard, Ashley Jones, Lisa Fabila, Tatjana Geib, and Nikki LeBlanc. Holly and I are the only original players to the team. Newbie Ashley looks like she's got some speed! Looking forward to seeing what she can do! Tatjana is very inquisitive of what is going on in the game and ready to learn and participate. I know she'll be an excellent addition! Lisa has a solid bunt and will be great on both sides of the ball for this team. And Nikki?! What can I say about Nikki? More below...
John and Nikki are special to us!
Time to hit you in dem feels! John Vrooman is back! And it's amazing he is even here. Wanna know why?! Ok, sit down for this, I'll wait... John had kidney damage that was so severe, he needed a kidney transplant. His father was a perfect match and the time was right to do the procedure earlier this year. He wasn't supposed to see any kickball action until September, but hey...LOOK AT HIM NOW!!! Bounced back healthy and happy, the Vroom Man is on the mound again throwing pepper better than ever! Hat's off to John Vrooman and his new kidney for a spectacular recovery! We love you man! Welcome back!
Nikki LeBlanc is recovering from cancer surgery. From what I hear this is at least her 3rd battle with cancer...and she's defeated it every time!!! She's one of the strongest people I know inside and out. She's my sister from another mister (You can see it in our brown eyes!), and I'm soooo glad she's on the road to recovery! Looking forward to kicking some kickball butt with her this season. We Cajun Queens have reunited again! Keep up the fight, girl! You got this! :) Oh, and I'm looking forward to those delicious snacks you make too...
BALLSAGNA FACE!!!!!!!
