Other than the team name sounding really scary, we had no idea what we were up against. I mean, death sounds pretty serious...but we came out swingin! Er...Smokin!! 5 Toe had first kick and the very first play was almost a disaster. Casey Heck grabbed the bunt and looked up at first and was thoroughly confused wondering why the hell he saw George Kiriazidis there and it distracted him enough to make a terrible throw to first. The runner took advantage and advanced to 2nd. No need to fear, the Silent Killer is here! Karen Savell (Moi...) was able to scoop it up and throw it back to George who promptly threw it to 2nd and tagged the runner out in the back. It was a shut out inning and Smokin Bunts came in ready to lay them down. Shane Chambers and Karen both made it on base and a bunt was made down first with the runners on 1st and 2nd. They threw to 1st for the out and Karen was able to draw the pickle at 2nd so Shane could score. (They always go for the girl. ((Wink)) ) Karen was able to score for a 2-0 lead before they were able to make a double play and get the 3rd tag out.
5 Toe had their turn with us and showed us that they are nothing to mess with and brought the score to a 2-2 tie and that's where it stayed until the bottom of the 4th.
Hang on, Imma let you finish, but I gotta say Journey Thomas had the bestest bunt of all time! OF ALL TIME! I am ASHAMED to have not mentioned it in the shout out thread because it was frickin' AWESOME. She painted that line all the way to 3rd base were it came to rest right on top of the base. ZING!!!! It was bee-YOU-tiful!!! Dang girl!!

Right around the 4th inning poor George had a blow out and came up limping while trying to sprint to 1st. His left quad couldn't take it anymore, he was kicking butt so hard. Seriously, we lost a good one to IR for a while and it SUCKS!! :( We hope you feel better, George!
So the 4th inning was the closer for Smokin Bunts in that Casey did his usual awesome bunt and got on 1st with ease. Meaghan Dorsey bunted and ran to 1st but she was thrown out, all the while Casey advanced to 3rd where he decided to keep going (Oh crap!!! Run, Forrest, RUN!!). The pitcher threw the ball at him but missed and Casey was the winning run! RKI for Meaghan! In fact, Meaghan also caught a ball to finish off the inning where we sucked to keep the score tied. She was clutch for this game! Dang, all these women are kicking a$$! ;)
Some of us went to Luckies to celebrate our winning night. In fact, I think Jesus got kicked out. Again. Sigh....
Alright Hot Dogs & Hamburgers ,Chips,Beer Tacos: Can you stop the Silent Killer streak?! Taunt! Taunt! Mock! Mock! Mock! Oh, and if you don't bring us hot dogs and/or tacos you will be thoroughly smeared with a 1-0 lashing. You will be scarred for life. Trust me. Captain Tiny Tim Nellis is all over that sh**. Just a warning......
