It's been a few weeks since I've posted a blog. Not sure if you all heard, but I was a little busy hosting a wildly successful WAKA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament. Anyways, that (plus my real life job) sucked up a lot of my time. But now that we've successfully crowned Panik Attack as champions, I can get back to throwing some posts up here.

Notes & Observations
- Pitching Dez continues to be an interesting team to follow. This week, they had a double header. Forfeited the first game. Had enough people to play the 2nd. Went down by 11 runs, but then exploded for 6 in the final inning. Good to see the offense coming around. Hopefully, they can build on this momentum.
- How great was Tapp's? They really took care of us on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I could see this being the start of a beautiful relationship.
- Despite an impressive performance by 5TDK's Seth Forrest (2/2 HR, 2B, 3 RKI), they were not able to defeat the unbeaten KILFs. That offense has really shown to be explosive. NoShoes, Noc, and Chris Storar are tough outs and they have some legs behind them. Really looking forward to the week 8 matchup between the Chaotic ones and KPGM. Should be a good litmus test for both teams.
- Speaking of KPGM, they had Bizarro tied 3-3 through 3 innings, but had no answers for the top of the Biz lineup. Courtney Efird drove in a pair of runs to lead the Bizarros to a 6-3 win in the Jungle Gym Bowl.
- Just when the Fireballs were starting to build some momentum, stand out charger Jesse Evans sprained his ankle and was out of action for the game against Hot Dogs & Tacos. While it may not be the reason they lost 4-0, it certainly didn't help. I know captain TJ Guarry is hoping for a speedy return for Evans.
- The Cardiac Arrest / Itch game was a pitchers' duel. Will Monroe probably doesn't get as much credit as he deserves, but he's right up there with the league's top hurlers.
- EMSK captain Ryan Patrick may have stumbled early, but the rest of the team picked him up. The Short Kicks scored 5 runs in the 4th to go up 6-1. The Foulies put the pressure on in the 5th, scoring 4 of their own, but fell just short of the comeback.
- I got a chance to watch most of the EMSK/Foul game. The play of EMSK's Rick Hoogstraten stood out. 7 games into his kickball 'career' and he's looking like a seasoned charger. Quick to the ball, fast release, strong arm. I'm starting to think that EMSK is a sleeper pick to make a run in the tournament.
