Welcome, dodgeballers! Thank you for joining CLUBWAKA / Tidewater Sports & Social Club for our Winter 2018 dodgeball league. This post will include a lot of details for you as we prepare to have a fun season.

First, let me introduce myself. I'm Brent Wentworth, the General Manager for CLUBWAKA
Hampton Roads. I started playing CLUBWAKA (then WAKA Kickball) back in 2005 and it quickly became my favorite thing ever. I played for several years before being hired as a part-time league coordinator in 2010. In 2015, the large bank I was working for closed up their downtown Norfolk office and CLUBWAKA hired me full-time to manage the 757. I have a real passion for our social sports community and I'm excited to serve (and play in) this league! If you need anything at all or have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Additionally, one of my teammates, Ryan Kiel, will be on site on weeks I won't be able to make it to Norfolk. Ryan is the commish of our Monday Night Kickball league in Virginia Beach and is an excellent coordinator. Either of us are happy to help.
SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS
- Games are played on Wednesday nights beginning 1/10 at 7:30 PM and 8:15 PM at Norfolk Christian Schools (255 Thole St, Norfolk).
- We have a bye week on 2/28 due to the gym being unavailable
- Most games will be in the "Ambassador" Gym. However the games on 1/10 and 1/31 will be in the Smith Gym. NOTE: The Smith Gym is the first gym you will see when you enter the facility.
- The playoffs are on March 7th. All four teams will make the playoffs.

NORFOLK CHRISTIAN POLICIES
It's important that we follow the rules and policies of our host, Norfolk Christian. Failure to do so may put our rental at risk, which means no dodgeball in the future. For that reason, failure to follow the guidelines could result in ejection from the game, suspension, or removal from the league. Please don't make it come to this. I hate conflict!
- No alcohol (Save it for Your Pie)
- No tobacco
- No fighting (c'mon, this doesn't need to be said, does it?)
- No weapons (other than foam dodgeballs)
DODGEBALL RULES / GAMEPLAY
- Please take a moment to review the TSSC Dodgeball Rules.
- HONOR SYSTEM: This is critical!! Every game will have a paid official overseeing it. But with 10 on 10 action, one human can't possibly see everything. It's up to us as adults to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. If you are hit and the ref doesn't see it, don't be the guy/gal to stay in. It's not a good look. Don't be surprised if you get called out in the new league Facebook group.
- As mentioned above, this is 10v10 action with at least 3 of each gender starting on the court.
- Each match will consist of two 20 minute halves and the team that wins the most games wins the match.
POST GAMES
YOUR PIE is the official post-game clubhouse for CLUBWAKA Dodgeballers. Every Wednesday night players will receive a special price of $3.14 for most craft beer pints and cheese sticks!
Your Pie is located at 7550 Granby Street inside the Harris Teeter shopping center at Ward's Corner. It's not even a mile away from the gym!
