Hurricane Florence - CLUBWAKA Hampton Roads Impacts

UPDATE (BRAD, 9/12, 3:45 PM): Peninsula Soccer Games are Postponed: The Fort Monroe Authority hascanceledd all activity for this weekend, so CLUBWAKA Peninsula Soccer will not be playing on Sunday. We will push the entire schedule back an additional week so the season will now end on November 4th. 

UPDATE (ALLIE, 9/12, 1 PM): Peninsula Indoor Volleyball Games are Postponed: Thank you for your patience while we've tried to make a decision on tonight's game status. I appreciate those who have provided feedback, and I have come to the decision it will be best to reschedule the games. Even with the change in forecast, I want everyone to be able to play without worry of taking time away from prepping for the potential storm or be inconvenienced due to mandatory evacuations.

I cannot guarantee that the DCC will be open this evening and have the nets up for us now that we have requested a reschedule for tonight

Unless you've been living under a rock this week, you know that Hurricane Florence is on its way to the East Coast. It's always hard to separate media hype from reality, but all signs point to this being a major storm (I heard Jim Cantore has been spotted in Nags Head, so you know it's getting real).

We want everyone to be safe. Stock up on all the milk sandwich supplies, bottled water, and beer you'll need to weather the storm if you're sticking around. Hopefully, this hurricane weakens or shifts away before hitting us, but one thing we know for sure, we're going to get a ton of rain.

Which means that we can expect several impacts to our favorite coed adult social sports activities this week. While kickball, volleyball, bowling, and softball probably aren't the most important things to worry about during a state of emergency, we will keep an updated list of postponements on this post. Of course, if there is a change, your community coordinator will notify the league via email and Facebook as well.
