Winter 2019 is in the books. Congratulations to my team, UNSUPERVISED, for capping off an undefeated season with a championship victory! And thank you to everyone who joined us. We were a small but amazingly fun group of kickball players this season. I want to give some special thanks/recognition to some folks for helping to make this an incredible season.
- Always big thanks to Bryan Freed for all of his help setting up and breaking down the fields each week. He's the real MVP and I can't thank this man enough.
- Shout out to the staff at County Grill for taking care of us all year long.
- I want to recognize all of the refs who helped this year, especially Matt Crawford and Christina Obershaw. You guys rock!!!
- The team captains are the backbone of any league. Thank you, Anna Rigg, Bryan Freed, Alex Noctor, and Brent Obershaw for all of your leadership!
<Lego Batman Voice> Pray hands, pray hands.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS
UNSUPERVISED def. FETCHThe top seed came out and took care of business against the 4 seed, Fetch. There was a silver lining though as it was not a shutout. Anna and company celebrated accordingly.
TBD def. PURPLE NURPLES
The story of this season was written in chalk. No team ranked lower than their opponent had won a game all winter long... until the tourney. #3 TBD upset #2 Purple Nurples to punch their ticket to the finals. Standout Purple pitcher Ed Aaron suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of the game early and the team was unable to recover from that loss. Our thoughts and best wishes are with Ed and we wish him a speedy recovery.
UNSUPERVISED def. TBD
Alex Jackson kicked a grand slam in the first inning and there was no looking back for the Unsupes. Winter 2019 Champions!
