CLUBWAKA Summer Bowling - Week 1 Recap and Team Intros

Let's take a look at the teams that will be rolling with CLUBWAKA this summer:

I Don't Give A Split: 785

Heather, Nathan, Mike, Angela, Adam, Sondra

New to CLUBWAKA and one half of the "When you turn 30 and decide it’s time to join a bowling league..." crew. They were having a blast, even if the pins weren't falling for them.

BullyBalls: 835

Kathy, Sheila, John, Kimmie, Chris, Tony

After playing in the CLUBWAKA Corn Hole league, they caught the CLUBWAKA bug and joined up for Bowling! Their scores were a team effort - the ladies carried them in Game 1, then the gentlemen picked it up for Game 2. Once they all get on the same page, I see them rising up in the standings.

Tuckin' Fenpin!: 858
Forcing Third Base B.E. - these longtime friends started as a kickball team, but gathered a select few and joined bowling for the summer! They are regulars around many CLUBWAKA leagues - friends on and off the field... or lanes!

Framed: 882

Susan, Matthias, Dale, Amy, Brandon (not pictured: Blake)

Oh Spare Me returns as Framed with a few new faces. Brandon returns after taking a few seasons off. Also joining are CLUBWAKA newbies, Susan and Blake. They made a late season run in the spring tournament. Will they continue on that path and claim a trophy?

Lords and Ladies of Pinterfell: 1033

Cindy, Michelle, Aaron, Louise, Greg, Denver

The other half of the "When you turn 30 and decide it’s time to join a bowling league..." crew. The best team name this season - shown carrying their banner into battle! This may be the summer league... but WINTER IS COMING!

Obviously Not Golfers: 1104

Kristen, Joseph, Dottie, Josh, Brent Jr, Brent Sr

The reigning Domestic Beer Trophy Summer Champs are back! They are also the only team without changes from the spring season - will consistency be their key to reclaiming the trophy? They currently find themselves holding onto the last slot of the top division, so they've got some ground to make up as the season goes on.

Orange Crushin' Dem Pins: 1124

Allan, Brad, Lauren, Kaige, Rey, Lindsay

"We were definately crushin' den pins Sunday (crowd chanting) BRAD! BRAD! BRAD!" - Rey
"Rey, Lauren "L", and I met as teammates of the inaugural season of Thursday kickball this Spring. We had some lighthearted skirmishes over the team name and Orange Crush was one of our unofficial names. L asked me about bowling and I told her my team wasn't bowling in the Summer, so I make sure we got put on a team together. Rey came out to the open play and decided he and his roommate Allan would bowl as well. That caused us to get split off from our original team to form a new team. Seasoned veteran and long time friend Kaige answered the call to help fill out the team in the last minute scramble. Completely new to all of us is Lindsay, first time WAKA anything in spite of knowing Brent for years. We don't know how we got so lucky to get her, but she fits in with us perfectly. You couldn't ask for a better group of people to just come together within a couple of days." - Brad

Livin' On A Spare: 1140

Andrew (Little Brother), Chrissy (Naughty Hottie), Phil (Old Man), Brian (Five Pin), Jenn (Big Mama), Adam (Papa Duncan)

One of the CLUBWAKA Bowling regulars for the past year. They are consistently in the top half of the league in scores, but haven't yet broken through to a trophy finish. This season, they take an early lead in the Weekly Team Challenge standings for giving an insights to their likes and dislikes - even if they may not all have been truthful... I'm talking about you, Brian, and your "dislike" for alcohol!

Win or Lose, We Still Booze: 1196

Ryan, Jen, Tabetha, Philip, James (not pictured: Kristi)

CLUBWAKA veterans from different activities joined bowling as free agents. At the time, the free agent pool was three male, three female... perfect for a new team! And if the season continues like it started Week 1 - it's gonna be a great one!

Spring's early front runners are back at it - under a new name and with a couple new faces. Even though they held the #1 spot throughout the regular season, they were unable to hold on to claim the trophy in spring. Is this the season they go all the way?
