Coronavirus Update
COVID-19 has been top of mind for everyone, of course. You may have already received an email from the owners of CLUBWAKA today covering our policies toward the coronavirus. I won't spend a ton of time going through this again, but will re-iterate that we value our staff and members safety and are dedicated to following safe practices within our leagues and events. Most of our gatherings aren't classified as 'large' events, so as of now we are not planning on canceling or postponing any leagues unless facilities close or the situation on the ground changes.We encourage everyone to stay safe. If you are experiencing symptoms or have recently traveled to an at-risk area, please stay home. If you are not comfortable with playing in a particular event or night for whatever reason, that's ok too. We are currently waiving the forfeit penalties for our league games through April (at least) so there is no pressure for anyone to attend who may be sick or uncomfortable playing. We do ask that if your team is not able to play on a given night that you communicate the availability to the league coordinator as early as possible. When possible we will make schedule accommodations, although makeup games may not be guaranteed.
We are working with all of our facilities and our staff to increase our cleaning routines. In other words, we're going to wash our balls more frequently (Heh. Sorry. Couldn't resist). CLUBWAKA is attempting to source additional hand sanitizer and disinfectants for our leagues as well. We also encourage everyone to follow best practices for spreading germs (cover mouths with elbows or tissue, wash hands frequently, avoid contact, etc).
All of this is fluid, and as we'll continue to monitor the conditions and follow all government regulations and guidelines. If in the event a league is impacted by a facility closure, we will work to find alternative locations or adjust the dates to accomodate temporary delays.
