Another great battle between two traditional powerhouses in the Hampton Roads area. This week marked Scott Duncan. It was good to see Duncan back on the field as the entire league has missed his boisterous voice and great hands!
the return of All-World kickballer,
KA started out the game with a solid bunt by ever-so-quick, Manny Anderson. Blake Kalaikai was this able to get the next two kickers to pop up which was huge, as there was no doubt Manny was going to attempt to go 1st to 3rd. This also allowed Situation to get out of the inning without allowing any runs.
In the bottom of the 1st, Sitch was able to load the bases with Kyle Lewis, Jeremy Edge, and Matt Coup at the top of the order. Duncan was able to bring Kyle home with a sacrifice kick, then Josh Waldrop and Kearsten Lewis came through with huge two kicks to bring in runs. When the inning ended, Sitch held a commanding 4-0 lead.
The rest of the game was a defensive battle as both pitchers held the other team in check allowing minimal base runners. Solid infield work on both sides made it difficult for runners to advance and the contest ended in a 4-0, Situation victory.
Highlights in this game included Kearsten’s huge two-out kick that lead to a run, Jimmy Wilcox’s greedy base running that led to him being thrown out at 3rd base, stout pitching that made it difficult to get the ball into the outfield, and people drinking all of my beer.
UPDATE: KA's Justin Schauf purchased a new GoPro and immediately put it to use. Check out the Kick Ass vs. Situation game edited down to 8 minutes.
