Foulies Edge Ballsagna

George Kiriazidis bringin' the Greek HEAT!
Week 2 brought another exciting game between Foul Balls and Ballsagna. The pitching abilities of Dennis Gholson and Derek Patterson of the Foulies, and George Kiriazidis and John "Vroom Vroom" Vrooman of Ballsagna made for a very low scoring game. John was able to foul out a kicker in this game for a total of 2 for the season so far. The defenses for both teams held fast despite the "Na Na Na Na Boo Boo" taunts from the Ballsagna sidelines which didn't seem to have the desired effects they were looking for.

Both teams only made a single run in the first inning, then in the 3rd inning bases were loaded with Mark "Rabbit" Thompson up to kick. Everyone expected a kick away, but the Rabbit bunted down first instead and kicked in score #2 for Ballsagna with a bobble at home plate. But that's the last time they scored. There were a few instances where the ball was thought to be still live and the Ballsagna runners advanced only to be brought back by a ruling from the home ref causing frustration and irritable Balls. (I hate it when that happens!)

In the 4th inning the Foulies had a runner on 2nd and kicked away. The ball found a hole in the Ballsagna defense between 2nd base and left center field where it fell through and the 2nd base runner advanced home for a 3-2 score.  In the 5th inning, Nicole Plesha made her debut (from getting married and honeymooning and silly things like that) and kicked a double to advance the runner in front of her to 3rd where he tried to make a sneaky move and run home for the tie, but he was hunted down and tagged by charger Joe Preseault and greatly diminished the Ball's chances to score.

"What should my strategy be, Joe?"
"Well, I really think you need to deversify your portfolio and invest  more in commodities and bouncy red objects...You can't lose!  Trust me!  Let's talk over WAKA Bombs later tonight!"

In the end the Foulies squeak out a win over Ballsagna, 3-2. It looks like Ballsagna still isn't fully cooked... they're looking a bit "runny" around the edges so it's back in the oven again... we might try 400 degrees this time. (Man, when is this dish gonna get done?! I got my fork and I'm ready!!)

Next week, stay tuned for the Battle of the Balls!!! Yep, it's the much anticipated match between Battlestar and Ballsagna!  Who's gonna get mauled?!  Takin' bets right now! :P
