Trunk-or-Treat - WAKA Style!!

To be honest, I had no idea what Trunk-or-Treating actually was until I saw this idea. I just thought it was for churches and schools and hipsters who thought Trick-or-Treating was too cool for their kids. And while generally, Trunk-or-Treating does sound like a silly idea for a kid, it could be a good time for a bunch of drunken adults in a parking lot about to play kickball. Think a big tailgate with candy and costumes and booze. So WAKA VA Peninsula is going to host a Trunk-or-Treat event in the War Memorial parking during our games this week. Only instead of just walking away with candy, there will be a prize for the winner(s).

For those who are not familiar with Trunk-or-Treating, in a nut shell it involves the trunk of one's car opened, displaying candy and/or games and/or decorations. It's like Trick-or-Treating from car to car instead of door to door, with each trunk having some sort of theme/giveaway. While we are modeling after the basic concept of Trunk-or-Treating, we will of course be mixing it up a little. We are encouraging each team to have 1 trunk represent them in the parking lot during this weeks games. Decorate your trunks how ever your little heart desires. Come up with a theme - it doesn't have to be kickball related or have anything to do with your team name - then have something available to pass out to trick-or-treaters - it doesn't have to be candy, it can be anything. Except drugs. It can't be drugs.

This would be the best trunk ever!

Each trunk will be judged on the overall theme and the winner will be announced at Luckie's that night. Judging will take place every hour, on the hour, in groups based on when you play that night. So if you play at 6:30, your trunk needs to be ready to go in the parking lot at 6:00 to be judged. Every time slot will have a winner picked out of the group and the overall winner will be chosen by the Commissioners at the end of the night. I can't announce the prize yet (because I'm working on something pretty sweet), but I ensure you it will be something the entire team can use.

Here are the time slots and when every team should be there (if you'd rather have your trunk presented during a different time slot just let me know):

6:00
Kick A$$
Peanut Butter Jelly Time
5 O'Clockers
Battlestar
Situation
Ballsagna

7:00
Pop Pop
Foul Balls
Ball & Chain Gang
Chubby Gangsters
Balls So Hard
Just For Kicks

8:00
Chaotic KILF's
Rumspringa
New Kickheads on the Block
Boom!
Kickin' Atoms
Free Ballin'

While I obviously encourage every team to participate, I am also encouraging everyONE to come out and enjoy all the trunks. This could turn into a pretty awesome parking lot tailgate on a night where presumably most people will be dressed up and causing shenanigans anyway. And if you find yourself lacking ideas, there are a ton of Trunk-or-Treat ideas floating around out there on the interweb.

Good luck, have fun, and see everyone Wednesday!
