Thank you for joining the inaugural CLUBWAKA Balls & Dolls Kickball Classic! We have a great day of kickball in store with 6 men's teams and 5 women's teams battling for supremacy. But most importantly, together we will have raised over $1,750 for the American Cancer Society.
Please take a few moments to read through the following information before Saturday's event.
SCHEDULE
The full schedule can be found online at kickball.com/vaballsanddolls. A couple of notes:
- Males: Each team is scheduled for 3 'pool play' games. After the round robin series is completed, the teams with the top four records will advance to the elimination round at 3 PM.
- Females: Each women's team will play 4 'pool play' games. The two top teams will then advance to the championship at 3 PM.
- We do have some volunteer refs, but not enough to cover each game. During the rounds when you are idle, your team will be asked to provide refs to help cover gaps.
- Games are 5 innings long or 50 minutes. Whichever comes first. No new inning may begin after the 50-minute mark.
ROSTERS
The rosters for each team can be found on this google doc.
GOSNOLD'S HOPE PARK
All games are played Gosnolds Hope Park (901 E. Little Back River Rd, Hampton). A couple of notes about park policies.
- This is a public park and the consumption of alcohol is prohibited. If you choose to do so, you assume all of the associated risks. We only ask that you be responsible, conceal any drinks, and do NOT leave your trash in the cans at the park (bring trash bags!). Failure to do this may lead to your dismissal from the tournament without refund.
- The park is dog-friendly. Please have a leash and make sure your dog doesn't viciously attack anyone or poop on the pitcher's mound.
- Below is a map of the park layout. NOTE: The field setup is subject to change based on conditions in the AM.
POST GAME SOCIAL
Country Grill (26 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton)
After the games, County Grill is the official post-game clubhouse for the Balls & Dolls. Participants will enjoy $6 Bud Light pitchers, $13 wing buckets, and $5 appetizers. The winning teams will each earn a $100 tab to celebrate with!
RULES
The games will use the Official WAKA Kickball rules. The only change will be in the number of players allowed on the field. There will be a maximum of 10 women in the field and 9 men.
ABOUT THE CHARITY
Proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. The funds we raise will help the ACS make an impact both locally and globally in the fight against cancer.
