VA Atlantic Kickball - Spring 2017 - Week 4

News

After two weeks of missed games due to rain, Monday night kickball was back in full force with six games on the schedule.

Did you notice something new at first base? Bright new orange safety bases that will last the season. Easier for players to see, easier for refs to see, and no more dealing with it getting shredded during a game.

Mid-season party this Saturday! Clear your schedule because starting at 7pm is our mid-season party. It's taking place at Peabody's on the Oceanfront and we'll have a private area for our use in the newly renovated facilities. No cover charge (pick up your wristband at the door), at least four kegs of free beer until 11pm, and of course $3 drink specials until 9pm.

After three weeks in first place, KR4K racked up two forfeits to move from first to last.

Balls and Dolls (8) - Jiminy Kickit (1)

Missing a number of veteran players on the day, Jiminy loses to B&D.

Jason went to catch a ball in the outfield and bobbled it but Cortney was there backing him up and we got the out!!! -Jacqueline (Jiminy)

Elite Kickball Status (12) vs. Misfits (0)

Misfits is still searching for the missing tie-dye on their shirts after getting blanked by Elite.

Elite Kickball Status (16) vs. 50 Shades of Panda (1)

In a small victory, Panda managed to score one run against Elite.

Bradley on Pandas had an awesome outfield catch in center field. -Jacqueline (Jiminy)

Bed Bath & Your Mom (10) vs. Misfits (5)

Misfits was able to finally get on the board in their second game of the evening against Your Mom but saw their score doubled.

Life of the Party (LOTP)

With a surprisingly large turnout for a rain-out, LOTP was in full effect at Bucketheads.

• Three teams showed up with 5 or more players at the bar (Jiminy, Pandas, and Your Mom), however no one had 10 players for the bonus points.
• The weekly theme was Headgear and three teams got in on the action (Jiminy, Pandas, and Misfits). The winner was selected with a combination of quality and quantity.

• The photo of the week category was Awkward Family Photo. Some were awkward, some silly, and even one was a bit creepy. Balls and Dolls was the winner...but are you really the winner when it's an Awkward Family Photo?

• Pandas and Jiminy snuck in some Ref Love while Jiminy and Your Mom managed some bonus Field Manager Love.

Not much changed in the standings as Jiminy had a narrow victory over Panda this week, however Panda jumped to number two.
